"Practicing event 3 with superior power behind me 😊 🙏🏼" —@Lea_carolina_schmidt#LatinAmericaRegional
Competition starts Friday, May 25, in Arena Carioca, Rio de Janeiro. Watch all the action live on live Games.CrossFit.com.
Every day that I visualized this moment for the past year I thought I’d be hyped up, flexing & celebrating. But when the moment came- I just felt thankful. Thankful for my fiancé @slightlyabove_averageathlete for being my #1 supporter. Thankful for my coach @tinomarini of @crossfitinvictus . Thankful for all my family, friends, followers, & the @cfpandorasbox family for their support. Thankful for @crossfitgames for giving me the opportunity to compete.
I also had a lot of other emotions come out that I had been holding in. @heber_cannon asked the perfect question in the moment to allow me to fully express it. In the past year I lost 2 friends in car accidents. Jake Hoffman, my wrestling partner growing up from my hometown, and Taylor White, a member of our CrossFit gym. I wore a headband & wristband to honor them & whether I won or lost- I wanted my attitude & effort to reflect that. I finally felt at peace with it- for I felt like I celebrated their lives this weekend rather than only feeling empty & mourning.
Qualifying for the CrossFit Games has been a dream of mine for a long time. While I can’t get to every message/post, THANK YOU for your support! It really does mean the world to me.” #SouthRegional#CrossFitGames#CrossFitGames
