The past 44 days I have started every day a little differently than what's "normal" for me.
I start each morning with warm water and lemon then supplements: iodine, selenium, turmeric, Maca & Chasteberry. Then I enjoy a well balanced breakfast (hopefully I plan accordingly) and drink plenty of water throughout the day all while abstaining from alcohol and cutting waaaay back on processed garbage.
Most people don't know I've been struggling with health issues since last October and although I tried to just "push through" by keeping busy with my work and drowning my pain and sorrows in a glass of whiskey, I woke up one day and realized that I had to take control of my health, physically, mentally and emotionally. By taking charge of my health and sobriety I am learning how to take complete charge of my life and for all of that I am becoming a genuinely happy person. Although my medical issues still are present I know I am doing everything in my power to become better inside and out 💕
I tried these things out. Not sure what they're called, but definitely a great way to hit hamstrings! Just put your feet up on a bench and slightly bend the knee. Squeeze your hamstrings and glutes to complete the motion. Touch your ass to the ground each time, but do not rest. I did 5 sets of 30 reps.

Summer parties abound these days and it can suck to get thrown off your healthy eating journey during those weekend parties. Stick to your goals by giving yourself a healthy option at these events. It may sound basic but a crudite platter is all healthy goodness and so beautiful in my book. In lieu of a creamy dressings, use guacamole as it's a healthy fat. By bringing this to your event, you ensure that you have something clean to eat and can fill up on it versus other unhealthy choices.⠀

Awesome people have awesome attitudes and do things awesomely. If you want to build and maintain an awesome attitude, get into the habit of living in the present and doing it now.
Woke up craving sweet so I threw together this little plate to satisfy that craving 🤗 I could eat caramelized bananas all day every day 😍 They’re up there with avocados in my top fav foods 🤭 They take literally less than 2 mins to make and it tastes like dessert 💯 And all that’s in it is banana, cinnamon, and some ghee or coconut oil 👌🏻 Paired it with sweet potato fries, grass fed kefir (similar to yogurt), and strawberries with chocolate chips 😋 Perfect sweet start to the morning!! I woke up a little earlier to practice gratitude because last night I was feeling a little down and I know it’s an easy way to turn my mood around ☀️ Definitely doesn’t take me from 0 to 100 but it does help me realize life isn’t as horrible as those late night thoughts can make you feel. Whenever I practice gratitude, I write 10-20 things I’m thankful for. It could be as deep as the people in my life or as simple as the coffee in my hand. Just taking a moment to thank God for the things He’s given me that make me happy. One of those things is almost always Choosing Balance and this community. You guys are the best and there’s rarely a day that goes by that I don’t connect with one of you and smile because of it. Truly amazing and so thankful for it! happy friday! i survived concert marathon week with so many unforgettable memories and moments that i don’t even know where to begin ☺️ my heart is so full and this past week has made the sore body, almost lost voice and feeling a little bit like a zombie totally worth it 🤘🏼 new york city has another level of energy that is not comparable to anywhere else, and i’m grateful it was where i got to finish this marathon off and see two of my favorite people back to back (more details on that to come 🙊) and see all my friends from previous shows again!.
and while this looks glamorous and all rainbows and sunshine, parts of the past week were hell 😅 i’m talking hours in the sun, even more hours in the car driving or traveling by bus, not enough hours of sleep and way too much money spent on concert merch and overpriced venue water 🤷🏻♀️ but do i regret it? absolutely not. was it worth it? hell to fricken yes 👏🏼 i would this again (not right now, not for a few months at least) and i’m officially starting my next savings jar (how i paid for all these shows originally cause yes, i bought all my own tickets 💰) because they work 🙋🏻♀️ if you love doing something, go out and DO IT! it is beyond worth it and such an incredible, life changing experience once you just go for it! #fitstrongshann.
