The #lindentree could often be found in the centre of a #community - it is said that its roots spread under each #home and help the residents create meaningful friendships, bring #compassion to their lives, and instill a sense of #faithfulness and #loyalty in each individual.
Linden was primarily used by #folk#healers to craft sedatives, and to treat nervous palpitations and #highbloodpressure#Magic practitioners say the bark of the tree has apotropaic properties and serves as a tool to capture #vampires and other evil beings.
It is said that the linden tree belonged to Svetovid (or Triglav, in some Southern Slavic regions), a powerful deity of war, #abundance and #fertility that could see the entire world, or a specific place, at any point in time-space. Sacrifices were often made in the name of Svetovid upon the linden's roots. #slavs

Re-posting from last year: How to make a #DIY air filter to help cope with the #Wildfire#smoke:
South Park resident Peter Quenguyen is shown here with a DIY air purifier, assembled with inexpensive parts: A 20x20 inch box fan, a similarly-sized air filter with a “MERV” rating of 13, plastic feet to stabilize the fan and some metal brackets and screws to hold the filter against the fan.
Change the filter every one to three months, depending on how dirty it get.
Take care of yourselves out there.

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years to life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” - Albert Einstein- 🐝
Bees pollinate 80% of flowering plants on Earth and about 75% of fruits, nuts, and vegetables grown in the US. One single bee colony can pollinate 300 millions flowers each day and almonds are totally dependent on bee pollination. No bees, no almonds, also, avocados, apples, and cherries are over 90% dependent on bee pollination. (Source: National Honey Board). By growing our own food, and supporting local farms and companies that is dedicated to the improvement of our soil, collectively we will have a huge impact on the quality of our air, water, and food.

I love that I can hike without worrying about bears in New Zealand. But I miss almost everything else about Juneau, Alaska.
Scenes like this ⬆and big ferry rides, beautiful lupin and fireweed in bloom, the southeast alaska running club that got me thru many weekends running races, amazing supportive friends, hiking tons of trails, sledding at Mendenhall Glacier, family walks to the glacier waterfall, hiking the airport trail, overnighting at different forest service cabins, watching eagles, climbing mountains, cross country skiing, daily vanilla chai lattes, the waffle house for delicious waffles, running trails with bells and whistles on, the long daylight hours, dark snowy winters, building igloos and shoveling snow, biking dredge lake trail on rainy days, summer trips to Haines Fair and Whitehorse, the awesome second hand kids clothing store (i have four kids!), a warm sauna on a cold day, my gym and it's people, crafting, renovating our house, big glaciers, taking lots of beautiful scenic photos of a big State.... and seeing bears catch and eat fish, run with their cubs, and prowl around the neighborhood. .

#ThrowbackThursday takes us back on retreat!
One weekend in the semester the CSU goes away on retreat. This Autumn, (Fri 12/10 - Sun 14/10) we head south to Northumberland to an 18th-century mansion house. Built in 1758 by George Silvertop, who was the first Catholic appointed High Sheriff of Northumberland following the repeal of the penal law. Since 1949 it has now been converted into the Passionists’ monastery. .
In Spring of next year (Fri 15/02 - Sun 17/02) we head up north to Dalmally to Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer. Owned by the MacFarlane-Barrow family who after returning from a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, converted their hunting lodge into a Catholic retreat house dedicated to prayer. .
Retreats are led by our Dominican friars and cost £40 all inclusive. For more information contact Lilian (@lay chaplain) and look out for registration details on our Facebook Page. .

🏠 FUTURE HOME OWNERS ALERT!! 🏠Thank you to all those who came out yesterday to our Workshop for First Time Home Buyers! “I’m a strong believer of the housing counseling programs. It is because on these programs, and the people that work for them, that I too was assisted with my own housing needs… I went from being homeless, to become a homeowner,” Mercedes Fuentes, Director of Programs at NewsEd Community Development Corporation. #TenemosEsperanza#WednesdayWisdom
It’s so amazing to see our community supporting each other every day. 🙏🏼 It’s what keeps us so energised and smiling through the challenges of running a start-up. Together with you all, we’re creating something really special. It sometimes even brings us to tears (happy tears)! If you’re ever in need of help with the minis, post a job for free on Motherhood App, and review applications from Minders in your ‘hood. This lovely, supportive community has your back! 😘🙌🏼 via @thrivhers#mothersinyourhood#mothersandminders

The gorgeous yet masculine Cade is a species of juniper grown in rocky areas across the Mediterranean. We use Cade in our Azul Calming Face Oil, but did you know Cade oil has antiseptic, antimicrobial and fungicidal properties? Cade essential oil has been used since the nineteenth century to sooth skin and scalp complaints such as psoriasis, dandruff and eczema.

There’s a lot of new faces out there so I want to tell you all about @galsthatbrunch and why I wanted to become the City Leader for MKE! 🥂
#galsthatbrunch is a growing, inclusive, and beautiful community of women from all over that gets together at least once a month for brunch! 🥂
I found #galsthatbrunch on IG at the perfect time! I was searching for opportunities to meet and connect with other women in my city! When I realized they didn’t yet have a chapter in MKE, I reached out to see if and how I could lead it! So happy that I did!🥂
I love planning the brunches and meeting everyone who attends! It’s been so fun and I’ve met a lot of amazing women, tried new restaurants, and sipped on delicious mimosas! Join us for our August brunch and you can do the same! Visit the link in bio to sign up today! 🥂

Do whatever needs to be done. How simple is that right? Honestly, let’s take a minute to look back... We start our year with goals, wants and dreams and yes, we hustle and work smart, we aim high and can even move mountains if that’s on the list but before you know it, It’s August. Summer is one big salt water cleanse to the soul. We use that time to simplify our needs instead of listing the wants. Clarity. Time. Power. The seasons change as they always do and for me, Summer, (my favorite of them all), has been about DOING over planning and LIVING over learning. Yup, I said it... even I, the super planner and major doer of all things had to pause and Lean Back instead of Lean In. Let me tell you... oh how sweet it is... Once I gave myself permission to do so, it all made sense, clarity came to me, and time was on my side with grace. All the goodness that was meant to be is beautifully happening right before my eyes and it’s time to reconnect with all of you. So as Fall gets near us, kids go back to school, fall decorations fill the shelves at Target, we all refocus on work, and the last quarter of the year approaches, Listen to the universe, it will help you not only understand your WHY but also your WHO. #womeninbusiness#womenwholead#theyearofshe#doer#living#why#who

We are officially on the road again, back to the shelters with another long day ahead. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to announce that we reached our initial fundraising goal in less than 24 hours thanks to YOU... which means we can now save more lives than we’d originally set out to. We are in complete awe of your generosity. You are the fuel that keeps this rescue machine running, you are what enables us to free these angels and get them the vet attention and homes they need. We have two more days on the ground, so with your help, we can keep saving more lives. PLEASE DONATE TO RESCUE THIS DOG & MORE at Fundrazr.com/savethemnow (live link in our Instagram profile) or via the donate tab at socialteesnyc.org. We somehow managed to get this shot of him alone — there are other, louder, brassier dogs in his kennel that kept overwhelming him by jumping on him, trampling him in an effort to get toward the bars, barking in his ears. He squirmed to get out of their frantic path and to find a moment of peace, which we hope we provided... and of which we hope to provide a lifetime. PLEASE HELP!!! The LA shelters are at max capacity, and the euthanasia rates are heartbreaking. We are on the ground for 48 more hours... and WE NEED YOU, we need your support behind us. PLEASE DONATE NOW!! These animals deserve a second chance, real families, true love. PLEASE THINK OF THEM, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!! #pleasedonate#pleasehelp#animalrescue#secondchance#losangeles#grateful#fundraiser#community#love#behindbars#innocent#socialteesnyc#straypride

Distance Doesn't Define a Runner.
Have you ever felt like you weren't doing enough...running fast enough, or far enough? Well, you're not alone. Feeling the need to increase distance is a very common issue for runners.
TSer @kwagner3687 talks about getting caught up in jumping distances just to fit in, and because she felt it was expected.
If you've ever felt like this, or have jumped distances just because, read Katelynn's article at TrailSisters.net (link in profile)

I can’t believe Just Be Yoga’s fifth anniversary is this Friday.
This community has played such an integral role in my life, my recovery, and my personal growth. It offered me a safe space to show up exactly as I am and be real about all that I was going through. It was a cocoon to hold me safe while I was still learning how to be my own sanctuary. It gave me the gift of mentorship from some incredible human beings who helped make me who I am today.
I’m in awe of how much magic and love goes into and comes out of Just Be, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
I’m so excited to celebrate this community on Friday at 9:15am with a special 90 minute class co-taught with the amazing @jenni_justbeyoga and @trailerparkyogi. I hope you can join us.💛✨🙏🏼 Photo by @marisapfenning for @justbeyoga.
