this is gonna be a real hotMFtake:
it’s not always the case, because having money to pay bills is important, and I get that.
but when I hear about people dealing with issues for months/years feeling like they’ve seen all the providers they can, that nobody has been able to shine a light on their issues until I’ve chatted with them, or that I offer a great service, but “that’s just too much,” how can I not wonder why we think this way?
I feel like we’ve dug ourselves a hole in the healthcare industry by focusing on lowest-bidder healthcare. we’ve set ourselves up for failure by setting the bar SO LOW that spending TOO MUCH MONEY on FIXING OUR OWN BODIES means that we’re spending too much money and THAT IS A BAD THING.
but we’re OK with massages and normatec boots and compexes, getting scraped to oblivion to shades of black and blue, poked and prodded with needles, cracked and popped and twisted, wrapped in Saran Wrap with tiger balm, quick fixes, passive modalities, immediate results.
but we’re NOT OK with skilled clinicians and providers that care about our progress - people that are set on the long game and not just immediate quick fixes, intelligent treatments and programming and development...
sometimes I wonder, if you had a really nice car, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW or Audi, you’d pay a mechanic the money to do their job. your body is worth MUCH MORE THAN THAT, so why wouldn’t you take care of it the same way?
we spend so much money on quick fixes...
go ahead, @ me. @ your friends. @ your provider. change my MF mind.
Who we are, what we do
Our goal is to build a better, healthier future for people all over the world. Working through offices in more than 150 countries, WHO staff work side by side with governments and other partners to ensure the highest attainable level of health for all people.
Together we strive to combat diseases – infectious diseases like influenza and HIV and noncommunicable ones like cancer and heart disease. We help mothers and children survive and thrive so they can look forward to a healthy old age. We ensure the safety of the air people breathe, the food they eat, the water they drink – and the medicines and vaccines they need.
WHO began when our Constitution came into force on 7 April 1948 – a date we now celebrate every year as World Health Day. We are now more than 7000 people working in 150 country offices, in 6 regional offices and at our headquarters in Geneva.
Our primary role is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations’ system.
These are our main areas of work:
Promoting health through the life-course
Preparedness, surveillance and response. . .

This car is on Autopilot. 🚘What happens next is why the motor insurance industry is warning carmakers against the use of the word "autonomous" to describe their vehicles. Tap the link in the bio 👆to read why a report for the Association of British Insurers says motorists can be left thinking that they have self-driving cars when that is not the case. Manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW and Nissan offer features that can partially automate the driving process. There are no fully autonomous cars on British roads. Thatcham Research, which conducts safety tests for the motor insurers, says the manufacturers need to be clearer about the difference between these assisted-driving systems and autonomous cars. 🚗A Tesla spokeswoman said: "When using Autopilot, drivers are continuously reminded of their responsibility to keep their hands on the wheel and maintain control of the vehicle at all times. Tesla has always been clear that Autopilot doesn't make the car impervious to all accidents and the issues described by Thatcham won't be a problem for drivers using Autopilot correctly." #cars#tesla#insurance#car#driving#bbcnews
