Hit the hills and trails today. 🏞
Well, somewhat. I started out going very steeply uphill with absolutely no warmup like a dumbass and my legs were absolutely devastated. Luckily once things balanced out, everything full much more into place.
Between ducking cobwebs and taking one straight to the face like a cartoon (and having a quick panic attack about it) I ended up flying back down the hill I came up at about 2 and a half miles in, and then added an additional 4 and a half of road running. 🛣
With my recent knee agitation I’ve been trying to run some more trails, at least once a week, and I’m also trying a new line of Brooks once they arrive. I’ve also started taking some glucosamine sulfate supplements for the time being, and so far feeling pretty good, but I’m much more interested in the long term results, obviously.
Everyone, I’m giving you homework for the next work. Go hit some trails somewhere. You don’t have to run, hiking is totally cool, but just get outside and in the woods. Your soul will give you a big ass high five, I promise. 🌲
If you know me, you’ll know I have a weakness for chocolate 🤪 this week I was sent some of the new @peakchocolatenz to try and (omg 🤤) it is honestly amazing! It is 80% cocoa, is high energy with BCAA & creatine and is also vegan, gluten free and paleo friendly 🤭 how much better can chocolate get!!? If you want some of this choccy, you know the drill....

I decided to try out the Nike app for this training cycle. You select your race, input paces, select some other preferences, and the app creates a race plan for you. It looks different than anything I have done before, but I figure it’s worth a shot. I want to run well at my next half, but am not making it a goal race...so I’m liking flexibility this time around. Yesterday I ran 3.25 recovery miles and today I ran 3.1 miles total with a 1.25 tempo in the middle. It looks like my mileage increases quite a bit next week. Onward!

For those that know me know I could eat ice cream, chocolate and lollies for breakfast lunch and dinner 🙊 after going to Samoa, home to NZ and then Oz, you best believe I was all over the tip top, Cadbury, and amazing lollies haha. Nothing beats it! But I think my gutt is telling me it needs a break, actually ever since Samoa my stomach has been wild ha .
Anyway, I’ve decided to try something for the month and participate in @junkfreejune which is a non profit organization that supports the cancer society of NZ. 100% of the money raised is paid to the Cancer Society of New Zealand to continue to provide information and a range of support for people affected by cancer and also funds cancer research in NZ. .
Everyone's "junk" is different. And junk free June encourages people to decide for themselves how they're going to be healthier.

Hach ist das herrlich, morgens zu laufen. Auch wenn es nicht 7 Uhr war, aber 9 Uhr hat auch was.😌
Und das Sommerwetter finde ich absolut Klasse, da stört es mich gar nicht, dass wir erst in 4 Wochen in den Urlaub düsen.☀️💕
Nachher geht es noch nach Köln zu den Kölner Lichtern. Ich bin gespannt, wie das wird. Freue mich schon seit Tagen darauf.🎆🙌🏻
