How many times have those words left your mouth?
Girl, let’s be real. Busy is a state of mind. Busy is a word our society glorifies. Busy is what we love to describe ourselves to seem more awesome. It’s somehow become a badge of honour.
Do you know what busy really is? Busy means you have to get better at planning and time management.
Harsh? Yeah, I bet. But you know what the truth is? If you’re too busy to make your health a priority, you better believe that at some point you’ll be forced to when it becomes a health condition.
Putting your health first is a MUST. It’s a must because your health means being able to keep being busy. It means being able to live long enough to finish your bucket list. It means living past the 18 years of raising your kids and actually being around and healthy to watch them grow.
Health isn’t just your waist line. Health is living a long life and having a GOOD quality of life. Health is living your BEST life.
So let’s stop saying “I’m busy” and start saying “I’m not great at time management” let’s see how quickly that becomes “I’m working on BETTER time management”

I don’t even have words to explain just how good it feels to have everyone home and together. It was a ROUGH ride to get here, but it sure as hell makes me appreciate it that much more. Here’s to no more hospitals, separation or BS 🙌
Salamba Sirsasana II — I went back and forth about posting this video because my form isn’t perfect and there are so many things that I can improve on in this posture. For me, getting upside down can be a little uncomfortable and you can clearly see that through my shaking in this video. Today I got upside down and it felt amazing! It wasn’t perfect but it was a step forward. Much love to my yogi babe @andrewrdickie for reminding me that it’s all a part of the journey 💓Also shoutout to @jj.robb for teaching us this posture in class a wee while back - I’ve been obsessed ever since!

Felt so good to put a little effort and love into myself today after a week from hell. Happy to say that the entire family is finally home and together again, and no more ER visits for miss Fallon Grace. We’ve moved to a lower dose Oral antibiotic and will continue with warm compresses and keep our fingers crossed 🤞

I don't know if I can call myself a blogger although I like the idea of that. What I do know is doing this is great therapy for me and brings we great joy. I'm not nessecarily a person who struggles with bouts of depression or anything but I am in a pivotal place in the self love stage of my journey this lifetime ( or as I like to see it) and creating these images and curating my life makes me feel wonderful. It forces me although it's truly effortless, to see the beauty in my REAL life. The consistency and cohesiveness it requires has proven to be really beneficial for this dreamy Pisces. The images I compile and compose and the thoughts I CHOOSE to share are all reflections of me and the fact that I genuinely like what I see is a big deal for me as it wasn't always that way. Most of all I love that I alone have creative control. This has taught me a lot about myself and also allows me to choose when I want to bare my soul or just post something I find aesthetically pleasing. That works for me because sometimes I want to be your gushy Pisces friend and invite you all in and other times I want to retreat into my putty little world and enjoy my thoughts alone. I kinda wish I did this earlier but everything as you know works on divine timing and grateful for this outlet and being able to see it now as more than just a place to post a bunch of selfies ( don't get it twisted there will be selfies ).

Today I did a little self reflection on the past week I have had. Not only did we move to a new home, but I started teaching summer school👩🏼🏫, had to unpack 📦, set up the house 🏡 and I’m a mom so I am still the chef 👩🏼🍳, chauffeur 🚕, maid and entertainer 🤹🏼♀️. BUT after all that I stuck with my fitness routine 💪🏼and I am damn proud!!!! I didn’t make an excuse, I showed up and I am so glad I did. If I can do it so can you! Become part of my team and stop making excuses.
What a wonderful evening! #PrivateChef@mychefamanda and her staff threw down with the 4-course meal! From the blackberry rosé sangria, caviar, to the filet mignon, everything was delicious and the service amazing! People kept asking what was the occasion?!?! There wasn’t one 🤷🏽♀️... I just wanted an evening of fellowship with some amazing women! The convos were juicy, the laughs were loud, and the wine kept getting poured 🤣 #randomMoments#LA#DinnerParty#TribeVibe

MY LIFE, MY CHOICE. I walked out that counseling section thinking “Thank the Heavens my therapist isn’t God, because I’ve got a different plan.”
And what she didn’t know, I wasn’t a victim, I actually was one of the lucky ones that made it through the war so I should have been celebrated and told “ you are smart and strong 💪🏾 for making through that war, now go used that same power, to make the best of your life.”

In a haze of exhaustion, postpartum, and chaos, it’s so easy to forget to care of you. This morning I unexpectedly awoke at 4am (alarm was set for 5 for yet another ER visit) instead of taking the extra hour I decided to use be gift of alone time to give back to me. I showered, I ate and dug some pre pregnancy clothes out of the closet to wear. All in all it was a small effort which took hardly any energy, but left me feeling a little more like myself. Never underestimate the power of a cute outfit, a shower and a post ER Americano.
As for Fallon, we got some incredibly hopeful info at this mornings visit and 🤞🤞🤞 we may be heading in for our last IV dose later today. Send ALL THE VIBES & PRAYERS!

What the hell is self care and why should I be trying to make time for it?! I’m so busy already!
I’m a huge advocate for self care.
I’m also so busy that I put it on the never gotten to list. (See, I’m human too haha) until I’m completely exhausted (or sick...oh hey ear infection I thought you only visited children?!) and that’s when I step back and recap.
It’s easy to say “I’m fine, I don’t need it”. But how sure are you?
You badly need self care if:
❣️you have brain fog and get irritated and annoyed easily
❣️you’re always late
❣️you have trouble sleeping and then waking up
❣️you have anxiety attacks
❣️you can’t remember the last time you did nothing
❣️you can’t focus and are constantly start things but not finishing
❣️you feel overwhelmed
❣️you’ve stopped cooking, working out, walking etc
❣️something always feels off and you can’t pin point it
How many did you check yes for? Today I check every single one. And I’m sure a lot of you did. That’s a huge issue we all tend to have. We don’t notice until it’s starring us in the face! So how can we self care?
🍃take a nap
🍃turn off all electronics
🍃go for a walk
🍃talk a long bath
🍃make a playlist of your top 10 songs and grab headphones. Lay down and do not move until you’ve listened to all 10
🍃go browse the mall
🍃move your furniture around
🍃read a fictional book (less brain power)
🍃learn a new board or card game
🍃colour or draw
🍃declutter something in your house (throwing out or donating things can be very therapeutic)
🍃work on a puzzle
🍃watch a movie that allows you to shut down
🍃pick a cool recipes and make it from scratch
🍃meditate or do yoga
🍃go to the gym
🍃go to the beach or a pool. Water is incredibly soothing
🍃sit in silence with your pet you will thank me for this one
