My friend Rainer @rainerk_ contemplates the passing clouds above the climactic summit of the 5-Day “W” Trek of Torres Del Paine National Park, in Patagonian Chilé. Big love to my buds @grantrosander and @trenton_jay who were along for the ride, too. (April 2016)
Ignite Nutrition combines smoothie bar with fitness center and wellness community that offers dozens of healthy treat combinations, group classes multiple times a month in their store and around town.
All under 250 calories, their 25 smoothie options will satisfy your sweet tooth (and your tendencies to become a monster when your blood sugar dips ... just me?) But it’s not just a smoothie you get when you open your wallet at Ignite, for $8.50 you also get a shot of flavored aloe (good for your digestion) and a hot or iced tea (good for a healthy energy and metabolism boost). And you’re not just another customer when you walk through the doors of Ignite. Owner, Kayla Ermeling, and all of her employees are as friendly and welcoming as a Disneyland Cast Members. They ask you about yourself and help you through the experience if you’re a “first timer”. They remember your name and ask you about your life if you’re a returning customer. You immediately feel embraced into their positive community.
The entire space is filled with many Instagram-worthy vibrantly painted walls:, the largest covered with a mural "Your life does not get better by chance ... It gets better by change." Tables are scattered around the large open space and barstools are saddled up to the busy counter, behind which is the gigantic menu that walks you through your flavor choices for each step of your beverage journey.
Our daily schedule looks like this: food, play time, naps (Emma), more food, play date with friends or trip somewhere fun (today it was a splash pad picnic!), food, naps (Aiden AND Emma), play time, dinner, mayhem. Let’s just say that although coffee after 3pm keeps me up too late at night, after 3 pm is actually when I need caffeine the most 😂😂😂
• (But in all honesty, the dinner-then-mayhem ritual tonight was infinitely better because we met my entire family at the local pool for a picnic dinner, which meant my parents happily swam with their grandkids and I dealt with ZERO mayhem, praise be to God🙌🏼 AND I got to hang out with my siblings before @lisamoser5 ditches us for Nashville again!!)
What do your summer days look like??
We are all looking for answers.
We are all trying to figure out this life.
We all have happy days and also terrible days.
We are all searching for something bigger than ourselves.
We are all longing to be loved and understood.
We are all doing the best we can.
We are all a little crazy and quirky in our own ways.
We are all a little broke inside.
We are all HUMAN.
Life is messy.
Take it day by day.
One step at a time.
No human is perfect.
Just live your best life.
I’ve been feeling a little frustrated and alone lately. And these reminders help me realize WE are not alone. We are all going through bullshit. But we will get all through it whatever that may be. Find your support system. Don’t be afraid to open up to someone and share what you’re going through. Chances are they may have been through it and can help you. I learned that lesson again yesterday.
Love you friends. 💛
