It was a crazy experience to have a lot of tourists stop us for a picture in our kimonos. It was even more interesting to have people or "paparazzis" follow us, awaiting to capture a candid image. It makes me wonder if they really thought we were truly Japanese, just wandering the streets of Kyoto in our kimonos and traditional footwear. That's for them to decide, because regardless, it was one hell of a good time.
My grandma had Alzheimer’s. One of the most painful things I’ve ever been through was watching and being next to her as she began to forget who we were. I think that’s why I got into photography and why it is so important to me. Photography was one of the ways that I could help people remember a moment in time, when when their own memory couldn’t. I know sometimes people think it’s silly to dress up and take photos with someone they love, but for me, it couldn’t mean more. It’s so important to me to help yourself remember those moments, whether they be awkward, funny or loving. Every moment is precious, and you never know if you might lose them. P.s. @brysphotography_ is the best and I can’t say enough how amazing and talented she is!
// In a world that asks you to be black and white, be colorful and bright. (That's what I say, at least!) Don't dim your colorful self in effort to fit in with the crowd. I know this feels almost impossible at times. We're constantly met with challenges to our heart's voice, because we're surrounded by other voices all the time. Sometimes we don't even realize we're hearing other voices, because we scroll through them so quickly, or we aren't actually listening to what's being shared. We're too busy, too unsatisfied, too confused, to even know we are missing true human connection. We don't take the time to listen to others, to process how the incoming information is being translated an received in our biased minds. We don't observe ourselves, and we don't take the time to just breathe, connecting with our deepest selves. We're all beautifully unique, which shouldn't separate us, but instead bring us closer so we can grow & learn together. I really believe this, and I believe in BURSTING with color and the fire within. Yes, people will want to bring you down... and your energy will not be matched by all... but this doesn't mean that you have to be LESS of who you are in order to fit in. So, ask yourself today: Are you being TRUE to YOU? Are you bursting with the colors you want to share with the world, or are you being the simple black & white, fitting in just to avoid conflict, dimming your sparkle to be accepted... Be true to yourself, fellow dreamers, and be as colorful as you desire!

Located on the edge of a 500-foot cliff, Mesa Arch frames spectacular sunrise views of the White Rim landscape and La Sal Mountains!
