I love this mudcloth pattern so much! I have this one on my sofa paired with the vintage Lafayette. It’s a perfect neutral but it also has a fun geometric pattern. •

Lazy Sundays are the best. Picked up my favorite slice of cake at a local restaurant and I’m keeping that in the fridge. Binge watching recorded shows and just being cozy in the couch. Decided to open the curtains and let more light in. From now on I’ll do this and my plants will thank me. A sexy silhouette of my #plantshelfiesunday 💚🌿How are you enjoying your Sunday? I wanna know 😁

Thanks to ghosting, breadcrumbing, benching and countless other bad-dating-behaviour nicknames, dating gets a bad rep sometimes
But dya know what? As soul destroying as bits of it can be, dating can be bloody mint too sometimes
First dates in particular can be amazing and memorable and some of the best times of your life
When I think about it, the nerves, the butterflies, the sneaky texts you send to your mates when he goes to get you a drink from the bar, the moment when you think "oh-my-god-his-knee-is-touching-my-knee-should-i-leave-it-there-should-i-move-it-away-nah-i'm-gonna-keep-it-there-this-is-nice", the first kiss, and the awkward goodbyes are all part of the beauty of it! And if you get to experience all that more than once with different people, that's gotta be 100x more fun than getting lucky and finding that special someone straight away. Right?
Have you noticed how interested people are in how couples met? I LOVE hearing about the early stages of my pals' relationships and I know I'm not the only one. I bet it's because more often than not that's the juiciest bit 😂 That's when the romance happens and the uncertainty and the magic and the awkwardness
So when you're about to go on a first date and you're terrified and you're sweating and you're starting to worry that it's been so long that you've forgotten how to kiss, remember that if things do work out, you'll look back on this moment with the fondest memories. If things don't work out, you still might have loads of fun and this can be just another mini chapter in what is one big adventure.
My first foray into upholstery was a success! The drab beige that my IKEA chairs came with was no longer cutting it, so I chose a bright blue to both show them off and complement my color scheme. For the project, I purchased fabric and a staple gun from @joann_stores. I got lucky with their fabric sale! The blue was half off, and because I finished the roll, I got an ADDITIONAL half off, making fabric about $5. An easy upgrade on a budget! Today we got a speelgoed kist. Super old, so we stick to the style. Needs some rework as it's not entirely children friendly.
Counting that Mister Design will send the right coffee table asap so i can put the dot above the i and close the chapter called ' The living room' ...
Being a mom has helped me get really, really good at something - saying sorry.
Often I hear myself “teaching” in a tone that is too strict, or a voice too loud for the gentle correction that was actually needed. At first I wondered if I should stick by my words, as some redirecting was needed. Soon, I learned, as I looked into wounded eyes that we would both feel better if I were honest, and humble. Many times, I’ve had to ask for forgiveness, when I’ve been tired or in a hurry. The kids have always been quick to forgive, but also mindful to do better, wanting to help me out. The best is when I see them quick to say sorry and forgive each other.
I never thought my greatest strength as a mom was to be real and show weakness to my kids, and teach them to extend grace and love to me, just as I hope to do with them. #letthembelittle
Sunday sunflowers! Look closely and you'll also see a license plate from Zanzibar, my dad driving a steam locomotive, an architectural model done by a friend, chairs from an old church, a powerlifting trophy, my grandpa's handpainted sign from his WW2 unit in Guam, and some Mongolian calligraphy. Oh, and the compost bin and some dishes in the sink. At Runcible, we're mostly minimalists, but that doesn't mean sterile spaces with no stuff. To us, it means meaningful treasures, carefully curated and arranged, handed down from family and friends, weird stuff, fun stuff, stuff with color and texture and memory. Yes, we design houses, but we'd rather be involved in helping create someone's home. What objects, art, furniture, photographs do you have that inspire, bring delight, have deep meaning? We want to foreground and honor those things, and create spaces that support life in all its facets. ❤️🛠️
If you’re looking for me this weekend, you’ll probably find me cleaning up after these three filthy animals. Luckily, this chore has become endlessly more enjoyable with my new @dyson cordless vacuum. Who knew vacuuming could be so fun! #notsponsored
After spending more than $200 buying different filters from other influencers and downloading expensive apps in hopes of improving my Instagram feed, I couldn't find any that produced the exact look that I wanted. I was switching from home decor to the lifestyle niche and I was losing hundreds of followers. People originally followed me for my decor, but I felt like I had so much more to offer than just that. I was tired of hiding behind my bed, but it seemed like every time I posted a photo of me or my story, I lost followers. 😞
So, I decided to put in work and make some real changes. I saved up for a better camera (which explained why I posted an advertisement every. single. day. SORRY guys, and thank you for sticking with me!!!), I studied new photography techniques, practiced different poses, and developed my own beautiful filter.
It’s been a few months since I’ve transitioned to lifestyle, but my engagement rates are back up to what they were when I posted only about home decor. It’s obviously not just because of the new filter that I’ve been able to switch niches successfully, but having a high-engagement filter certainly helps. Just swipe to see this photo before my edit.
After a lot of messages and inquiries about my preset (from both companies and individuals), I’ve decided to make it available for purchase. It’s currently on sale for $40 and comes with a PDF guide on how to take viral photos for Instagram. 10% of your purchase also goes to helping the homeless. The link is in my bio 👍🏼❤️

anyone else have an entire carafe of coffee next to the bed on sundays? 💁🏻♂️☕️
Real life people... It’s not just Blu that’s concerned about my Hubby. He has a condition called the Apha-Gal Syndrome. Basically it is an allergy to meat. He can eat anything that swims or flys, but no mammals. If he does, even just the slightest bit of cross contamination, I’m taking a piece of bacon accidentally dropped into a salad ordered in a restaurant, he gets violently ill, breaks out in hives, and his entire body begins swelling 4-6 hours after ingestion which has ended him up in the hospital before. This all stemmed from a tick bite received over 10 years ago. The reason I am posting this is because this is such a new syndrome a lot of people don’t know what it is or why they have these symptoms. I’m hoping this post will help maybe one or two folks out there. Last night he suffered an episode and we were so fortunate it wasn’t worse than it was. There must have been some sort of cross-contamination in something he ate yesterday and around 2 this morning we were both wide awake trying to do damage control. It is the worst feeling to know someone you love and adore could be gone in a second due to anaphylactic shock. The hives start at the base of his neck and then begin rolling down the rest of his body. It is incredibly scary. We didn’t know what was happening the first time this happened and even though there have been several studies done now, years ago, we were clueless. Luckily our family doc’s partner was one of the first doc’s to contract this syndrome and did extensive studies at UVA to determine the cause. We are always so careful, and honestly are scared when eating meals out (FYI, just because you’re ordering a vegetarian taco doesn’t mean the beans weren’t flavored with pork), but it doesn’t stop there. One of the worst reactions came from a Tylenol gel cap. I read every label now. I picked up a tomato juice drink mix the other day and found that there was beef stock in the mix. What?!?!?! That would have been devastating. I hope this post helps at least someone out there suffering from this. The Hubb’s is on the mend and taking it easy for the rest of the day. We didn’t have to make a trip to the ER and are counting every blessing today.
