Its easy to cut things out of your diet, it’s hard to find a way for it to happily exist with health and without guilt.
Its easy to work manically. Its easy to do nothing. It’s hard to find the place where you work hard but also prioritise relaxation and self care and fun.
My natural inclination is to work hard until i crash, then as soon as I’ve recovered to work hard until i crash again. But as i get older I’m learning to find the beauty in the balance. It’s a work in progress. But i think everything worth having is worth working for 🌟⭐️✨

I mostly fuel my body for nutrition but I also eat 🍩 🍦 and pizza 🍕. There is a time and place for everything . There is a time to feast there is a time to fast. There are plenty of women who need just as much or more calories than their male counterpart. Unfortunately, society teaches us it’s better to walk around hangry and undernourished, it’s more ladylike. 🙄
This is #dietculture at its finest. Don’t let society dictate how much you should eat. You should always listen to your body, it will not lead you astray.
If you’re hungry, eat until you’re satisfied, and don’t pay any attention to how much “he” eats. It doesn’t dictate how much you should have.
Real talk, the hubs and I ate the exact same amount for dinner. This wasn’t a fluke either. We almost always have similar dinner plates. I’m 5’7”, he’s 6’1 and outweighs me by quite a bit, but we still eat the same size dinner. All the time.
Always, always, always, listen to what your body is telling you 💕 That’s the only guide that matters.

These pictures are taken exactly 1 year apart. The girl on the left was so miserable with her body hiding behind yoga pants and baggy shirts. She was desperately wishing to lose the baby weight. Wondering why her once a week personal training sessions were doing nothing. Trying meal delivery, skinny teas, personal training but none of these were working for me. She was overwhelmed with her sadness on the inside and the stress of being a single mom to a 9 month old. Just plain unhappy. .
Now the girl on the right.... she decided to make her health and fitness a priority. She finally said YES to the persistent stranger who asked her if she’d like to try a home workout program. And once I finally said YES everything changed. My self confidence sky rocketed, my energy levels are up, i am back in school, working hard at a job I love, and getting up at 5 am to get my workout in! I cannot believe this is where I’m at from where I was! .

Two weeks feels like a lifetime away from this account and all it entails. It also feels like period I’ve grown, learned, failed, and obviously eaten my way through so many different places I had yet to know existed.
As some of you may know, this account started when I was studying abroad in Italy and actually ate my way through wine-filled hills. I was 20, thought I understood the world and couldn’t imagine not thinking about sorority formals or getting a text back from a boy or even the mindless drama that sprinkled my conversations. But then I sat down on a plane, saw the map trajectory go right over an entire ocean, and it all set in. It made me realize that I was going to be walking on land I had never touched before, breathing air that had never filled my lungs, even speaking a language that was not that of my own.
Two years later, aka four months ago, the opportunity to go to Europe came up again. I thought about my career path at the time and pushed aside the idea of going in hopes of getting a full time job. But something reminded me of that 20 year old girl that thought she wouldn’t survive a life in essentially another world. And then I realized it was exactly what I needed. I needed to remind myself there are other walks of life, other languages and currencies, cities that get around by boat and bicycle and people that think different thoughts and know different things. There are experiences to be had and memories to make and there is solitude in being uncomfortable.
So here I sit, leaving Europe once again, having gained a reminder of what is important in this life. Because at the end of the day, I would rather be living in the moment and traveling the entire world than sitting at a desk chained to a job that doesn’t fulfill me. And if you ever get the chance to jump on a plane and do the same, I hope you do.

1️⃣ I changed my major 4 times in college. I went from nursing → athletic training → physical therapy → allied kinesiology .
2️⃣ I use to play SIMS for HOURS! I’ve played all the versions of SIMS! I believe SIMS 3 is my favorite .
3️⃣ I have 3 tattoos, one of my right hip, one of my right shoulder blade, and one under my left collarbone. .
4️⃣ I did wrestling & judo in high school, and I loved it. .
5️⃣ LOVE going to Disneyland! Love the vibe, love the food, and just love everything about it. However, did not go to DisneyWorld yet. .
6️⃣ Born & raised in Maui, Hawaii. Moved to Las Vegas straight after high school. Been here for 6 years now. .
7️⃣ I fricken love cheese! I’m that person who puts a ton of cheese on my pizza or pasta .

It is about finding balance between passionately following what causes your soul to swiftly swirl in the blissful taste of freedom, and accepting reality as it is at this very moment.
