It flipped my entire mindset upside down...
Deciding to go vegetarian (6 years ago this month) turned into many other things outside of just a diet change, it was a change in mindset. It was my first real time questioning the “norm” around me. Never in my life had I challenged something so concrete in my upbringing, and it caused me to look around and ask... “what the hell else am I not questioning?”
I credit this decision with leading to my “ultra mindset” that I try to embody. The idea that nothing is as it seems, and that a simple change in daily thinking can create big positive changes. It led me to question, why I can’t go further? Faster? Get that promotion at work? Why shouldn’t I go against the status quo and do what just makes sense to the one sailing the ship... me. It made me an instant outcast at dinners with friends/coworkers, always put in the spotlight to have to be on the defensive but once I found out it’s ok to think different and it didn’t kill me, it lit a spark.
People may read this and miss the point and instantly make judgement. For the record I don’t judge anyone’s diet, whatever makes sense to you and makes you feel your best that’s what you should do (I get it, I’ve had brisket, that shit’s delicious). This is just what I find works best for me. #izzoultrarunning#thinkdifferent#pma#ultrarant
We will all be together for the 4th of July this year and decided to sign up for the @1stplacesports Celebration 5k. These tend to get a little competitive amongst ourselves and there might be a friendly wager in order... Anyone else have #4thofjuly race plans? @904fitness
This is how I want it to be and feel💙,.... all the time! Not just for a short run. I am coming back from injuries one day! 🏃🏼♀️👊
