As I’ve been getting my butt whooped on the bicycle in these races this year, I’ve made it an obvious point to focus my attention there. Biking with some incredible inspiring athletes in Collingwood on weekends and biking to work in good weather helps a bunch. Already nearly 600km biked this month(which is more than I’ve ever done in 1 month). Roughly 20 hours. Already excited for next year.

Sunday morning miles with a side of hills || 5.5 miles
Commitment ~ “A decision to stick with a project or goal even when it’s not easy” ~ Week 3 recap:
1. Massage Monday ❤️✅ - SO relaxing and just awesome 🙌🏽
2. PT with Becca ✅ - I owned those ropes for about 30 seconds 🤣...Looks so easy when someone else is doing it
3. Business trip didn’t distract me...well I overslept for my Wednesday morning run 🙈 - it was the 🍸 not me 😂
4. Shook what mama gave me in Zumba 💃🏽 - I fell in love with Zumba about 10 years ago - ❤️❤️❤️ being back on the dance floor
5. Spin class ✅ - Finally made a class - didn’t realize how much I missed being on the bike 🚲
6. Long run at sunrise and I didn’t melt ✅✅✅ - ran into some sole sisters who reminded me how far I’ve come since my first marathon three years ago - Words and hugs I needed to get through this morning’s run ❤️ Should be another interesting week - business trip in #musiccity 😉 #personaltraining#strengthtraining#spinclass#zumba#running
6 miles with the Camelbak...I think this is a go! Worried about the weather next weekend, and I hate handhelds/waist packs. Although, looking at the forecast it looks like 77 as a high with thunderstorms 😩. What fun things should we do in Chicago!? #rnrchicago#racevacation#runchi
took almost two weeks off of marathon training (!!!). it started with an injured knee and snowballed into me doubting I could and should run again...do I even like doing it?
today, like the last few days, i had a million and one excuses as to why I shouldn’t run but I was also feeling soooooo antsy (and my knee felt better).... it was time. Instead of doing the scheduled 16k, I went back to my favourite, 10k, to remind myself why I’m doing this: I actually love distance running, I’m a better person when I do it, it’s good to push myself and set goals that scare me. It went great! My knee started acting up a bit so I’m going to go get it officially checked out but this week I’m back on track, even if it means tweaking the plan slightly to prevent injury...no more excuses!
it’s crazy how training for a marathon challenges not just your body but also your mind- and not just when you’re out on long runs but also (and maybe especially) just before you lace up your shoes. Runners out there, what are your tips to dealing with those type of moments? #marathontraining
Monday done 👊 up at 5:45, was blowing a gale. Running in the dark Im alright with, but running in the dark when its windy- nope nope. I cant hear anything! Is that a car? someone running behind me? Is that a rabid squirrel coming to attack? Plus getting hit by flying branches not ideal. So treadmill it was. A mix of The Prodigy, RATM and Tiesto made the time go relatively quickly. Throw back pic from when I caught that ah-mazing sunrise last year 🌅 Happy Monday peeps 🤗
A self support #trail half marathon this morning. I attempted to outrun the #monsoon weather but I failed. It caught up to me during the last mile....but at least I was off the #mountain by then. 😁 Happy #sundayrunday!
Running through to a new week.... with many goals and ambitions for the next 7 days ahead 🙌🏼 more rehab and hopefully more miles 🙏🏼 📷 @jamesdown1986

-Never lose sight of your main goal-
Starting a new week it can be tricky to get off on the right foot. A little planning can go along way. I'm training for my next 100km in September being flexible has kept me rolling forwards so far. I'm trying to juggle work, uni and training it can be hard!
Outrunning the monsoon like bosses.
Big thanks to @glennswansun and Josh for keeping me motivated. We conquered Abineau to Bear Jaw this morning. With about 2,000 ft of elevation gain in less than 3 miles this is a super tough 7 mile loop. The views and aspen groves make it totally worth it though. The pictures really don’t do them justice.
13.1 miles to kick off #SundayRunday! Here's hoping this humidity "training" will help me ROCK my check-in race next month. Wanna join me at the @afchalfmarathon? Use "CARLEESFINEST" to save $10 on your registration! #AFCHalfMarathon

No post run pic today. So enjoy a very rare sighting of a semi dressed up Molly in the summer! Definitely let the 95% humidity get the best of me today. I only got in 7.25 miles, but hey it's better than nothing and I don't have any big races on my calendar until September. Headed to church with @ultrarunningjustin then spending the day with our parents and my sister's family. Happy Sunday, friends!
