Sturdza Castle 🏰 is a Gothic-style castle built between 1880-1904 by George Sturza and his wife Maria in Miclauseni village.
In the past, the building had numerous decorations (including emblems inspired by the Sturdza family crest: a lion with a sword and an olive branch), completed in 1898 in Art Nouveau style by architect Julius Reinecke. Sturdza Castle had many valuable collections of books (a collection estimated to 60,000 pieces) and documents of the time, paintings, jewelry, several medieval costumes, weapons and many other valuable items. Unfortunately, some of the rare objects, mostly the books, were burnt by the Russian soldiers during the World War II.
Currently, the Castle is under the Metropolitan Church of Moldavia and Bukovina and was included on the list of important Romanian 🇷🇴 historical monuments in 2010.

Evening! Twice this weekend my own balloon flights have been postponed because of wind speed, which is obviously disappointing. So it’s good that I (and all of us) can feast our eyes on this beauty captured by the fantastic @mrbenadams 🙌 thank you for tagging #BristolsBalloons, Ben 😊
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday night. See you soon @richimal_bristol 🎈
