Meet Josh Sparrow:
Josh is a student at George Brown College (GBC), taking Culinary Skills. Josh is a born and breed Newfoundlander who has traveled across the country to attend GBC and improve his culinary skills. .
Before his time at GBC, Josh had been working as a line cook for a little under two years. His journey started when he applied for a BOH position at the new Bier Markt opening in St. John's, NL and ended up getting a line cooking position on the fryer and flattop section. Being thrown into the culinary world head first, Josh came to love the thrill of the rush and the pride in serving great food to many people. .
After his tenure at Bier Markt, Josh moved on to a more responsible role at Montanas Bar and Grill. Here Josh learned how to work all parts of a line from pantry (A.K.A. garde manger) all the way to the Grill. After working at Montanas for a little over a year, he decided to pursue the culinary industry as a career and applied to a well known, and well respected school, George Brown. .
While in Toronto attending George Brown, Josh has found employment at two different places. At first he worked at at local owned Texas style BBQ, then took his skills to a new hip Italian restaurant in Yorkville, Sofia. .
Josh plans to use his certificate to travel the world while cooking and gather a multitude of cultural cooking and living experience!
