Happy Sunday! This is a piece from a month or two ago that I was a bit unsure about. Once I mounted it and covered it with resin it gave it that extra thing it was missing and now it is one of my all time favorites! This piece, along with a ton of new stuff is now available on my Etsy shop! 💕
Sunday’s are for refueling your soul and for being thankful for all of the blessings in your life. ☀️I hope you have a great day friends!!💐

Thread sketching. My first attempt. I’m quite enamored with this mode of creation. 💜
Life’s rhythms and routines have changed in major ways for me and my family in the past few months because of my Dad’s heart trouble. The changes will continue to roll on for all of us as we move into the months ahead. - So what’s this artist to do when I still need to create when I can’t access my studio or my messy supplies?
I adapt. I get back to basics with a sketch pad, pens/pencils, and watercolors. I reawaken the skill of creating with less. To satisfy my need to learn, I dive into a new-to-me technique that is easy on my budget and doesn’t take up a lot of space, like thread sketching.
Art provides me with a necessary cathartic space in which to process life’s changes. I hope you are able to find your own cathartic space, too. ✌🏻😌🎨
#plannerlife I LOVE this! Fortune cookie 🥠 cut Out. Printed fortunes placed inside. I thought it would be a fun way to put Affirmations into my planner. What do you think??

Made this as a special 30th anniversary card commission and immediately wondered about doing a set of floral numbers to go with my #zoeprosefloralalphabet 🌸 always too many ideas, too little time 😂🤷♀️
RVA friends! What was the last movie you saw at The Byrd Theater? The last one I saw was when I was about a million months pregnant and they played one of my hubby’s favorite movies - Mrs Doubtfire 🙌 in case you’re curious, Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War is playing there tonight! Also this print is now for sale in the online shop and includes a pretty black frame all ready to hang on your wall! DM for the link! Fun fact: @thebyrdrva used this illustration for their Christmas card one year! 💙🎅🏼
This little stack of gelli prints I did the other day makes an appearance in today’s YouTube video (link in profile)! I’ve really been enjoying taking a more mixed media approach to my illustrations as of late, as I’ve been trying to reinvigorate my creative process. Sometimes I find that I think of my artwork as a job (because that’s what it is) and it sucks the enjoyment out of it. However, when I let myself relax and just enjoy paint and color and collage, it seems to bring a whole new perspective into play and makes the process of creating a lot more fun. Do you ever find yourself getting stressed out by the “requirement” to create? What do you do about it?
Work in progress, revisiting some past work. This is based off a photo I took while on vacation in the Ozarks. It's also one of the first photos I painted when I started painting again back in February. I decided to paint it again today, mostly because I love the image and also because I was curious to see how my style has changed even in the last six months. In those six months, I've experimented with different surfaces (decided I like panel more than canvas), different paints (bought a bunch of golden acrylics ($$$!) before deciding I liked my old Utrecht acrylics best) and different techniques (favor scumbling and occasionally glazing to create gradients instead of wet-on-wet). I think my paintings currently have more texture and range of value than when I started out. Also, Dusty approves and he's usually my harshest art critic 😝😝😝😝 #landscapepainting#acrylicpainting#emergingartists#impressionism#workinprogress#carveouttimeforart#artistsoninstagram
Drawing while in my creative fortress. Feeling tranquil, organized, monumental, and electrified with inspiration. A cat by my feet, undisturbed and napping. An open window overlooking whale sharks splashing in the sea. A landscape of love. A lighthouse guiding you home. A book of war tossed aside, forgotten. A breeze kissed with a humid sweetness. Life is good.
Wave hello to this new little oil painting 👋🏼 I’m trying to be better at keeping my website up-to-date, so you can find this one and the others in my new Sea Series on there if you’re interested!

- How to kill a Vampire
How to kill a Vampire is an adventure originally based on an actual RPG campaign from my childhood. It has evolved into something more. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic world and is filled with deeply rooted supernatural belief systems from around the world. What would you do if a vampire killed your family?

Follow the story. You know it’s the right thing to do.
I’m borderline obsessed with sunrises, sunsets, and clouds. Overlaying photos I’ve taken of beautiful skies and my artwork is a little addictive hobby of mine, swipe to choose your favourite, could you see these as prints? ✨

There’s just TWO DAYS left to grab your spot in Creativity Unleashed.
What I love about teaching this course is that it's just as unique as it is needed.
This course will provide you with a roadmap to YOUR style. **Not mine, not someone you follow on Instagram-- but what is really YOU. ** When we learn to create from that place inside us, a whole new adventure opens up. And it's the most rewarding thing in the world.
The 4 weeks are a combination of soulful work and practical work.
Reconnecting to yourself + discovering your truth AND technique + practical learning.
Also, one of the many things I love a out running this course is getting to connect so intimately with a group of brave, creative women and support them on their journey. And watch as they support each other.
So, if you… + Want to cultivate your own unique voice and style in your art + Have been feeling the itch to begin your creative journey but don’t know where, or how to start + Are artist (at any level) who wants to align + awaken the heart and soul in your art practice + Can feel there is more to creating powerful art then just technique + repetition...and you want to develop that extra spark in your work. + Would love to develop a creative practice that makes you feel FREE
I hope you’ll join us!
The doors to enrollment are closing TOMORROW at midnight PST. Sign up with the link in bio 🎨

Inspired by the beautiful rocks formations I’ve seen lately. With a bit of copper just because ✨ (also, when was the last time you bought yourself flowers? 🌹)
Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere - on water and land.
