Many of us have probably heard the metaphor of our lives being like a block of stone or marble and God is the sculptor turning our lives into His masterpiece.
It’s a beautiful and fitting metaphor for us. God has a plan. He uses the slightest changes to fulfill His vision. He can see what the block could become, He can see the big picture. As the block of stone, we can only see where we’ve been, and even that is hard to put into perspective.
Using this metaphor, the irony is that we as the sculpture, so often are dissatisfied with the direction the Sculptor is taking. We complain that it’s all wrong, that our plan is better. Or that we can improve God’s plan, and we don’t need the Sculptor to turn our own lives into a masterpiece.
How wrong we are. God is the one who doesn’t need us. He doesn’t need our help, He could do it all on His own. But, (and this is a big but here), God wants our help. He wants to work with us, to be a part of our lives, and for us to be a part of His.
It takes a relationship, and it takes trust in God. We only see a fraction of a fraction of the big picture. We can’t see where this work of art is going. But, we can trust in God and His power to use all things for His glory.

"When a child is given to his parents, a crown is made for that child in Heaven, and woe to the parents who raise a child without consciousness of that eternal crown." ~Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Little love praying with his Daddy (and his duck) at Church. Moments like these make my heart swell with joy. .
I shared the quote from Archbishop Sheen not to condemn anyone but as a reminder for me and my husband. I pray that regardless of any hardships, obligations, activities, etcetera to never let anything come in the way of making our faith a priority. 🙏✝️🕊

"May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."
~St. Teresa of Avila
Thankful to my family and faith for teaching me to dream, opening me to new possibilities, the willingness to fall and stand back up in the pursuit of virtue and goodness, planting the desire to succeed and excel in God's gifts and even personal weakness, peace in suffering and pain, the experience of unabridged or unapologetic joy, and cultivating a passion for life/living secure in the knowledge of being a child of God. How has your faith inspired you? .
My bestfriend, Chris, will be moving into the seminary this August to start the next chapter of his life in Christ. Please pray for him, for by the grace of God he may be ordained a priest one day! He is very passionate about God, and has been discerning since 2014. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be a Christian, so I am very thankful for his friendship and patience 🙂

I can’t believe this little babe will be ✌🏼 tomorrow! Peter Karol you are the joy of our heart and home and a light to the world! 🌎✨On this date two years ago, I went into labor. I was SO scared and nervous, but the thing that got me through was 1.) God’s grace and 2.) interceding for others. I had asked people throughout my pregnancy how I could pray for them and brought that list of people and intentions with me to the hospital. I pray I can teach Peter that there is so much joy found in interceding for others - even when there is suffering involved. Today we are praying for all pregnant and expecting mothers! God bless you all! 💗
¿Sientes miedo?

Q. “Good Marks” involves the bullying of one by another. In light of the recent flurry of horrific school shootings what can we take away from your poem?
A. Good consciences need to be formed. God first sends the grace and that grace builds and perfects as the young person’s nature grows. “Nature” requires learning Scripture and the power of God. Why do many act like they have no conscience, indiscriminately killing former classmates? Jesus answers his critics “Is not this why you err-because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?” (Mark 12:24). A good, well formed conscience is a destination that we must move toward with effort and determination: “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” (Mark 12:34) said Jesus to the Scribe. Jesus’ response gives the Scribe ‘good marks’ for answering wisely.
It’s been a long week, and hubby and I have not had a lot of time together. We knew this week was coming (commitments and activities, etc.) but it hasn’t made it any easier. Our marriage is not perfect by any means - we fail each other frequently. Not because we don’t love one another, but because we’re human, and sometimes we just don’t put in the energy we should. But because this week has been so crazy, hubby has really stepped up his “relationship energy” level and has been sending me little reminders throughout the day that he’s thinking of me, even when our daily schedule is crazy and chaotic. Yesterday, I discovered the entire box of Rice Krispy Treats had little messages from hubby written on them! Some were inside jokes, others were sweet notes. But this one was my favorite - a mix of romantic and goofy all wrapped up in one, just like our marriage. “Mandy, I can’t believe you married me.” 😂 I feel the same way about YOU, my dear. ❤️ These little messages are so sweet it almost makes me not want to eat the Rice Krispy Treats. Almost. 😜 Marriage is NOT a fairytale. Marriage is 100% a choice. And it is a string of choices that keeps you committed to one another, and then YEARS of choices to then transform your marriage into the fairytale you envision. But it’s all by choice. Just like God desperately wants us to love him - we have a choice to do it or not, which has to be so incredibly difficult for him. Marriage is the same way. You have a choice to commit and make it work - or not. I’m so, so, so thankful that hubby and I continue to choose each other. 💍🙏🏻
