I know prior to this journey I never shared many words on this platform but there has just been too much magic to contain in this excited lil brain of mine & I want to share it with the world. I want to remind whoever follows along that life truly is magical! If you listen to your intuition, it will lead you, you’ve just gotta TRUST
Wishing I was waking up to this and praying the bronze gawds remain loyal this summer. 🙏🏼
And we’re backk - (btw I swear I don’t say this about every place 😂) a few hours after being in Panama I already understood why people up and move there, all. thee. time. The country offers a unique balance with its capital being a metropolitan city mixed with rainforests, beaches and rich history. Next time y’all ask me about going to Cancun, DR, JA, any of those frequented destinations in the Caribbean ima start telling y’all nah, visit Panama. Here’s why...
📝They use the U.S. dollar as legal tender (this means you don’t have to worry exchanging $$)
📝Food/lodging/activities etc. are not expensive once you’re there (Tocumen is also the largest Central American airport meaning cheap flights too)
📝They have uber in P City! (~$3 uber rides to get around all the main parts)
📝The nicest, most hospitable ppl live there and majority of them speak some English
📝Offers a mix of city, rainforest, beach and beautiful islands all in one
My fav part was staying on the small island of Bocas del Toro. Must visit spots to check out -
Make sure you hit up Captain Maga from @jagerknights. He’s the island hopping 🔌.
Now I def am not someone to be at clubs, but ima sucker for island parties. Wed-Sat, Bocas turns into a party spot basically all throughout the island. Below are the spots I’d recommend hitting up:
Is it obvi I have too much to write about this place? 😂 I’ll be sharing my favorite places to eat and stay in my next posts (you’re not gonna wanna miss out on these 🔥 food pics too, just saying 🤷🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️).
#tbt Guadalajara, February 2018
I couldn’t think of a more apt final photograph to post, on the final day of the most amazing 4.5 months of my life.
2018 - you’ve made me laugh, you’ve made me cry, but most of all you’ve made me so much more appreciative of and empathetic towards this wild, beautiful and diverse planet we call home. Thank you to my darling @mikediggins for being the most incredible, perfect companion over the last few months (legendary moments include pulling me out of the sea with my kneecap dislocated whilst screaming like a banshee; carrying my rucksack for me almost every time we moved location; eating the rank guava/papaya in my breakfast bowls and speaking on my behalf in broken Spanish pretty much every day). We are sad to be leaving but so excited to see all of our wonderful family and friends back home from Saturday, and for the next adventures to come ❤️!!
El Casco viejo. Lovely old town full of well and not so well maintained colonial style buildings. There are many tiny bars to make friends and it’s just in general a lovely place to be.
Highly recommend it compared to the main city with its shiny sky scrapers! What’s your favourite old town?
