I found the source! 😎 (And lost the arm to my sunglasses! 🙈) Can you see the water flowing in two directions as the River Nile intersects with Lake Victoria? 🌊 This special spot is closely guarded by hundreds of beautiful water birds - African darters, African openbills, white-breasted cormorants, African fish eagles & more! 🦅 There’s something powerful about standing at the source of the longest river in the world. 💪🏽 It is a reminder that we all have to start somewhere & that by following our natural flow we can achieve mighty things! 💙 #rivernile#learnfromnature#weallstartsomewhere#humanheroes
A spotted shag in all its breeding finery! Check out that hairdo!!! During the breeding season these endemic shags transform… An impressive double-mohawk emerges from their head and snow-white filo-plumes spring from their feathers. Fluorescent greens adorn their face and a brilliant blue ring encircles their eyes. The small black spots, which give them their name, clearly appear on the tip of each back feather. This would have to be one of the most impressive spotted shags I’ve seen! All this finery outlasts mating by a week or so.
