I’m not even going to lie. We’ve been riding the struggle bus the last few weeks when it comes to our budget. 😬😑😵
Hubby started a new job. When he turned in his 2 weeks notice at his previous job, they told him to go ahead and go. So we’ve been without a paycheck from him for 3 weeks now and got behind on a few bills, but will be caught back up soon!🤦🏻♀️😑🙄
At his new job he gets paid weekly, while I’m still getting paid bi-weekly. .
I’m used to both of us getting paid bi-weekly on opposite weeks. I honestly liked it that way. 🤷🏻♀️
So now I’m trying to tweak our budget and get it all figured out according to our pay schedules, but I’m having trouble.
I should also mention that hubby will be getting his first paycheck from his new job at the end of this week. 🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼
Anyone else get paid weekly while their spouse gets paid bi-weekly?! 🤔🤔

So nice to see a ZERO balance on my old student loans. Totally #debtfree !!!
My biggest debt to date... PAID IN FULL!
After writing off my car, my insurance valued my car at a little bit more than was owed on it (which was a huge relief). The payout was in my account yesterday and I immediately called the bank, found out what the final owing amount was and transferred the funds across.
It’s not the way I expected to pay off this debt and it almost seemed too easy but it is such a huge relief and a huge step closer to being #debtfree
Now my goal is to make a smart financial decision when it comes to buying my next car.
Credit card rates are reaching an all time high..but how? And more importantly, how does this affect you? Find out more about risising Federal interest rates and your wallet.

The A, B, Cs of success. Continue to learn in the areas you need to make a better plan. You'll need to learn enough to competently do it yourself or hire someone who can.
Implement the plan. Tweak and optimize the plan as necessary as you get results. Repeat until success.

Ready for another *PUKE* goal (aka a goal so big it makes me want to...well, you know. Last year I made a goal to pay off my student loans and I accomplished that (officially) on Valentine’s Day this year. My next goal was to be 100% debt free by December 31, 2018. Today, I am moving that goal up 5 months and striving to be DEBT FREE by July 31, 2018. Don’t let me buy the Nikes, guys. Pheeeeewwww here we go!
"Coming out of high school, I honestly had no intention to go to a university like UC Berkeley, even if I was qualified to get in (which I certainly wasn’t). My dream was to play competitive college golf and study something that would allow me to have a career in golf, the game that gave me joy throughout high school. But, after a year studying sports and entertainment management, I found out that a career in golf just wasn’t for me.⠀
I made the difficult decision to transfer out of Miami and head to a 2-year community college in Southern California. There, I found my place studying Political Science while continuing to play the game I love on the golf team.⠀
After achieving my 2-year associates with success both academically and athletically, I had yet another difficult decision to make… Continue my dream of playing competitive golf in college by transferring to a 4-year university that had a spot for me on their golf team, or transfer to UC Berkeley, a university that had never crossed my mind until I discovered I was smart enough to get in and attend after my time in CC.⠀
I was accepted into UC Berkeley and after much deliberation, I decided to finish my undergrad career there. This decision made me put the golf clubs away for a couple of years because I didn’t have a car and I was ballin’ on a college budget. While this was hard to do, it did give me more time for other things. I honestly still can’t believe that I ended up at UC Berkeley. It’s crazy to think that it’s over now and I will be embarking on a new journey. I’m not entirely sure what the future holds for me, but I know I will carry my experiences at UC Berkeley with me in whatever I do." -Joe, UC Berkeley

A couple of years ago @jasaug said to me, "I'm the Mailbox Money Mama!"
Me: "Lol...what's that?"
Jas: "I want to create a six figure residual income so I can stay home with the kids, when we have them."
I'm cool with that. So we found a company that gives us the best opportunity to do that.
Mailbox Money is what you used to call Residual Income. Before direct deposit you would walk out to the mailbox in the morning and get your check in the mail. Nice right?!
Some examples are Rental Property Income, Creating a Song or piece of Music, Making a Movie, or any type of Subscription based business. The idea is you did something one time and you continue get paid on it even after the work you did is complete.
Along the way we have found like-minded individuals who want something more out of life besides working a job for 40 years hoping and praying they will have enough for retirement. So we created the Mailbox Money Team. And we're JUST GETTING STARTED! 💯📪💵

It’s time for mid year life assessments. Did you accomplish the goals that you set at the start of the year or at least started working towards them? Or do you plan to be in the same place next year? The choice is always yours.
The next stage in our #frugal#debtfreejourney is growing our own food! We have a lemon tree in the backyard (that is struggling a little bit TBH 😅) and have planted some tomato and capsicum this week. Any tips about how to keep these bad boys alive?
#wanderlustwednesday#whywednesday NINE DAYS! Single digits until we leave for a trip that we have wanted to take since we first started dating. We’re renting a car and driving the Pacific Coast Highway, starting at Lake Tahoe, then San Francisco and down the coast stopping along the way wherever we see beautiful spots, like this view in Big Sur, continuing to LA, and ending in San Diego.
We could never afford to go on this trip every time we tried when we were dating. In fact, we never seemed to be able to afford much of anything we REALLY wanted to do. We made decent money, had a low mortgage, but never had much to show for it.
We got married in 2015 and planned to go for our one year-anniversary in October 2016. Well in January 2016, 💩 hit the financial fan.
We were not on the same page with money at all, we didn’t combine money, and we were competitive spending (I saw @nerdsguidetowellness mention this once... basically, I’d be going along paying off my deft and then he’d spend $500 on golf clubs or something and I’d say “screw it” and go out to spend $500+ on something too, to make myself feel like I was enjoying life as much as him).
That January, major expenses started popping up. And we were living too close to the edge to deal with them. Every month, we had a new medical issue for either us or our dog, or an appliance broke, or a car broke, or a tree fell on our house, etc. It was NON-STOP. It took 8 months for us to get out of survival mode, come up with a plan, and start to follow it. I say “start” because we still didn’t even combine our money until a year later. It’s been a process.
We had to really discuss WHY we wanted financial freedom and WHAT we were going to do together when we had it. This trip was one of those things. And in NINE days we get to do it... we still have 8 weeks until we’re debt-free so it’s going to be frugal, but we’ve learned that we like frugal travel. It allows us to take more trips! I’ll post our planned budget this week.
And if you’ve been to any of these places in California, please please leave suggestions for sites, hikes, and restaurants!!
"Are you living a life if endless excuses? I KNOW YOU ARE!
Here are the reasons we make excuses.
✔️Fear of success (believe it or not.)
✔️Lack of confidence or resources.
Excuses lead to getting “stuck” and a life FULL of regrets. Moreover, success in any field of endeavor requires a period of discomfort where we must venture into unfamiliar territories, never knowing what to expect. 👀
The moment you catch yourself making excuses, immediately ask yourself the following set of questions:
-How badly do I really want this?
-Why don’t I have what I want?
-What excuses are getting in the way?
What can you do? Focus on solutions and opportunities! the things that did work. It’s a simple shift, but if we keep this principle at the forefront of our mind when making excuses, it will immediately transform our perspective of the situation at hand.
Still open to account management, DM for more info..
Today is PAYDAY!! I finally had time to run to the bank to pull out cash for my envelopes. This will have to last me until my next paycheck on the 5th of July.
Thankfully, I dont have any 4th of July expenses this year! If you haven't seen my Instagram stories, I ended up making some changes for this paycheck.
I increased my Misc. Cash envelope from $60 to $95 and I added a new "pet" envelope for my Guinea Pig, Penny.
Last paycheck, I used all of my Misc. cash pretty fast and I know I will have a few extra expenses in that category this paycheck. Mixing my pet expenses with my Misc. expenses just wasn't working.
My next step is adding up expense categories for the month. I'm excited to see where every dollar of money went. That post coming in a couple of weeks.
Did you make any changes to your recent budget? If so, why?

Major shout out to @siri2siri who after reading my book 📚, From @paychecks2power , and attending 1-2 workshops of mine, paid off all her debt a few months ago. Being debt free has positioned her to finally as of a couple days ago quit her job and focus on her business full time. 🗣THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO. When you can have people step out of the safe and secure and go chase their dreams simply because their finances have created the environment for it, that's the most rewarding thing on the planet. Please help me in congratulating her on her major accomplishment. #teamdebtfree#debtfreecommunity#debtfree#nodebt#cashisking#newentrepreneur#thegrind#dreamchasers

ATTN: those who don’t have an Aldi nearby! I’ve been posting my twice monthly @AldiUSA hauls and raving about how much I save. This week I needed a bunch of household items from @WalMart so I did groceries there instead. Guess what. It came in about the same price! $162.49 for 2 weeks of groceries for my family of 5. That’s comparable to what I’ve been spending at Aldi. (FYI I spent an additional $75 on household items)
So here’s what I take away from this. 1. I think Aldi is so great because *everything* is cheap. Grab and go. You can find cheap things at other stores... you just have to be careful not to buy the expensive stuff, because at other stores you have options (example: I bought the $.85 bread at Wal Mart instead of the $5 bread). 2. Also, shopping every two weeks (twice a month ish) is a huge money saver. Less trips to the store = less money spent. I highly recommend it if you’re trying to cut back on the grocery bill. What about produce and milk and stuff? We freeze milk and eat up the produce that expires quickly first. Apples and oranges and lettuce and other longer lasting produce will last the 2 weeks. If I need to run to the store to grab a couple things I do.
Our grocery budget is $400 a month for our family of 5 (sis-in-law living with us for the summer + 2 kids + husband + me). We also spend about $150 eating out. So $550 on food for the month for all of us.
House Inspo 🏠 | so many accounts I follow at the moment have reached their target and in the process of purchasing their own home which is so motivating 👏🏻 I really hope this time next year I will also be in the process 🤞🏻 Love having a target to work towards 🙌🏻 #dreamhome#happyhumpday
