Please. Take possession of your time. Like all good things in life, it is in short supply. Taking ownership of your time is prerequisite for agency. Sharing your time with others is a form of agency, a choice.
People will push you and pull you in their directions, whom you follow is your choice. When you fall flat on your face, it should be because of your choices, not somebody else’s.
This is true in everyday life and even more so when it comes to events like weddings where many people (I don’t mean industry pros here) are involved and they all bring with them a set of expectations and opinions. While making sure that everyone enjoys themselves and feels welcome and comfortable is, of course, paramount, but it doesn’t mean it’s not your party. 🎈 Your life is your party.
It seems to me, and I fully admit to being a partial and anything but innocent bystander here, that doing your thing and owning it makes more people happy than just trying to please someone else. I mean it.
I can talk to you about dreamy papers, and colours, and daydream with you about summer mornings by the sea, because of ‘owning it’. This has helped me to find my tribe, my people, my ladies, you who inspire me and push me, or drag me on. I have endless miles yet to go on this path and I’m glad you’re here with me. I hope you choose to stay. 💕 😇

I’ve been getting so many paper shipments in lately that any shipments coming in slightly different get me excited. (I’m looking at you black out curtains. Fingers crossed they keep my son asleep past his 5:15 wake ups these last couple weeks.) I also received this beautiful order of twine for a gorgeous suite I can’t wait to show you all soon. St.Signora packaged everything up so beautifully. It was the prettiest package I’ve received in a long time that didn’t involve deckled edge paper
If you’re from the Twin Cities, then you know @treadleyardgoods is the place to get gorgeous fabric. I’ve been stashing this beautiful liner away for years, waiting for the perfect occasion to use it. On it’s way to Santorini next month for a gorgeous seaside elopement with @avecweddings and @mollycarrphotography
In the Old Testament, Samuel sets up a stone to remind the people of a time God provided for them, a time He saved them from defeat. In my early twenties, I went through a 4 year long season of extreme anxiety, doubt and depression, I had always been an incredibly positive, hopeful person but I just couldn’t seem to find my way back to that place. Anxiety medication didn’t do a thing and there wasn’t really anything specific to point to as the cause. .
While I was living in Côte d’Ivoire, I was probably sobbing on her kitchen floor, wondering when this dark-night-of-the-soul would finally be done and a friend told me to start creating ‘Eben-ezers’, “What on earth is that? Like from that old hymn??” I wondered. “Think of all the times God has provided for you, when He came through for you, when you could feel His arms wrapped around you. Make a list, take out that list when you start to feel anxious and remember Him, remember the ways He has proven His love for you, that He’s got you.” .
She told me how people used to build pillars of stone to remember God’s faithfulness to them. Sometimes people are my Eben-ezers, I remember the people who He has brought into my life who were significant - you know those people who believed in you when you were first beginning? Or stayed with you while you were a hot mess? .
I am so thankful for these people, the way God knew when I needed them, and how He works His love throughout my life through those people. This is really just a long way to say that this picture reminds me of one of those people, who believed in me and encouraged me when I first started my career in calligraphy, thanks for being you @ashleyfoxdesigns !
Excited to bring in these babies into our store soon! You can pre-order them now and choose from 3 colours 😍✨🖋 #artistesaku

The Heart Vs The Mind ! --- Why both?
Why just not one?
Why yes from one and no from the other?
Why not the mutual decision?
Why is the mind placed above heart and not vice a versa?
When would someone's heart know better than someone's mind would?
What is the battle between logic and feelings? And why?
the brain tells you the truth and the heart tells you what you want to hear.
Is it !!
And with that comes the dilemma of 'Right Time'.
What is this right time?
When does it come?
When we know that this time is the right time? What if the so called right time arrives after ten or fifteen years when literally its the wrong time for the right to come?
Urghhh..... why ?
Love, commitments, feelings, emotions
career, stability, future, wealth.
When you have the first one you need the others and when you get the others you crave for the first.
I need love but not in a state to commit.
Love = heart
State = mind.
What should i listen to?
This is my life and i am responsible for each and every decision i take and every necessary compromises i made or i will make. .
Maybe listening to my mind, maybe this is not the right time.🤞
You usually go with your heart or your mind?
love on site lettering as you will never know how lovely the clients are💕a father came over and asked for a cute version letting for her daughter, so i drew a little rabbit as well haha😆 thank you #rayban Hong Kong for hving me over the weekend🌟
blind deboss will always hold a special place in my heart. these save the dates feature a meaningful verse along the edge and exude an aesthetic that is masculine, minimal, luxe and clean. truly one of my favorites to date.
Here it is. 🌿 Such a dream to design for this loving couple and to incorporate materials that reflect their values. Their goal of a truly #greenwedding day inspired me to research recycled paper to use for their stationery. After coming across this plantable seed paper, I presented the idea to Brittyn and there was no turning back. Each piece of their invitation suite was made from reused pulp and could be planted in the ground to grow flowers! 🌻 If you’re planning a wedding, be encouraged to really make it your own. Every detail of this zero-waste, vegan wedding was carefully planned to represent this sweet couple and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it! // photo @magnoliaadams planning @feteokc stationery @ohhoneypaperco florals @xohaleighkenney

Don’t get wedding stationery.
There, I’ve said it. Don’t get wedding stationery if you don’t value it. It’s just so simple. Don’t get anything just because you think you should.
Having bespoke stationery made is a sizable investment for what is essentially a one- or two-day affair. If it’s not what you value, what you don’t care about, then don’t get it. In all likelihood, if you don’t care about it, your tribe doesn’t either. So why send it?
If you’re not into it, send a digital (wedding) invitation. Seriously, I mean it. Send an e-mail. A timely e-mail goes a long way. Even if you’re sending an email to someone who is all into stationery and observing “the etiquette” (like me), you’ll serve them much better then with a stationery item that arrives too late, because you’ve forgotten about it or haven’t put enough thought into it to make it really count.
Don’t get stationery if you’re just going to send junkmail.
If you do decide to send out paper stationery (and I really hope you do), make it count.
Starting with the save-the-dates.
Lets talk more about those some other time, okay? For now, have a lovely Sunday, 💕👋
