Cheers to the weekend! This week was mentally exhausting, for me. So this morning I downed my go-go energy juice and my workout is about to take all the stress away 👊🏼🙌🏼 I have something exciting to share with you soon! It’ll make staying on track with workouts much more doable! Stay tuned!
It’s been over a year that I’ve joined Beachbody, but it hasn’t been until the past month that I’ve slowly stated incorporating Recovery into my post workout routine. Why did I wait so long?🙈⠀

You did awesome all week, but then the weekend hits... and you will be having some fun and drinking some cocktails. 🍺🍹🥂That’s awesome and everyone needs to have fun, BUT just remember that alcohol calories count! People get so discouraged that they aren’t meeting their goals because they do so well during the week. Drinking and the poor food choices that tend to go with it can have a huge impact on results! My health and fitness journey use to be defined by frustration, guilt, and obsession.😣 Im a foodie, always have been always will be ✌🏾constantly tried to out-exercise my food intake, a completely unattainable goal🤦🏽♀️ Without even getting into the eating disorders that I found myself in, let's just talk about my relationship with food and body. It sucked. Can I just say that?
It was a cycle like this...Eat. Feel guilty about what I ate. Exercise. Feel frustrated that I couldn't get results. Eat because I was stressed and depressed. Rinse and repeat.
It. Was. Terrible.
I'm not self-motivated when it comes to working out and eating healthy. My gym memberships always disappointed me because either a) I never actually showed with enough consistency to see results or b) I would work out in the gym obsessively without results because I didn't have control over my nutrition. Self-sabotage at its best.
I didn't even know there was another way.
See, gyms are GREAT for people who are self-motivated and who can discipline themselves with a workout routine and meal plan!! But that wasn't my story. I was trying to get results in an environment I wasn't set up to thrive in.
I needed SUPPORT. I needed GUIDANCE. I needed ACCOUNTABILITY. I could have hired a personal trainer but that's so expensive (plus, I needed more than just a few days a week of help)!! And then I learned about accountability groups. Women just like me with goals and a lifetime of bad habits to overcome. Women who would show up with me everyday of the year with encouragement and support. Guidance, specific healthy meal plans to follow, workouts I could do from home in just 30 minutes a day, and best of all, results!
These groups aren't for everyone; some people don't need this!! But for those like me, we are stronger together! We need a specific fitness and nutrition plan and we need intentional focus on learning to LOVE OUR BODIES, even before we are at our goal weight. 📝 Improvement season is almost ready to go!
In order for me to make my physique better I have to take time out to improve.
That means letting go of my current status and condition and thinking of the bigger picture.
I need to work hard, be realistic, and consistent if I’m to make this happen.
It may take 6 months it may take 18 (likely the latter) but I’m cool with that as generally nothing worth having comes quickly or easy.
The primary goal is to build muscle and this will mean increase in calories, increase in training load/and volume, but there will still be a priority for me keeping this body fit and healthy.
Guess what else there will be set backs in the form of life, there will be socials, beer and cake as that’s me being realistic and I love these things.
However this will play a small role in keeping me enjoying life, the majority will be the stuff I do day in and day out...Eat for health, Train for growth and Do my best to Recover in between.
