Who loves deadlifts??? 🙋🏻♂️
So this was from a few months ago. It’s been about 10 years or so that I was told by a doctor never to deadlift again. “No squats no deadlifts...no heavy lifting”
Now, for those of you who don’t know, I have 2 compressed disks in my lower back. Sometimes if I sneeze too hard, I can throw my back out and be stuck in bed for a week. -
Deadlifts are by far the scariest movement for my back condition but deadlifts are also one of the best core exercises you can do, plus they’re awesome 😎 -
So I decided for myself, I wasn’t going to listen to a doctor with a sedentary lifestyle who could “tell” me how to live healthy but had not exercised since grade school. -
Not exercising is just not an option for me. And I’m a down to basics kind of guy so I deadlift and I squat, sorry not sorry doc. -
So there are good days and there are bad days. Some days things just hurt so I take it easy. Some days everything feels great so I go hard. -
The point is, I do what I can. Something is better than nothing and in the long run, every little bit counts. So on days you’re just not feeling it, remember it all adds up. -
Good Morning Lifters! Building the body that you want takes time, dedication, motivation, and consistency. You did not get unhealthy overnight, neither will you get shredded overnight. If you keep showing up, trust the process and give it your all...YOU WILL SUCCEED! Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep lifting!!. Tough situations build strong people in the end and you are STRONG! The beautiful lady pictured is @espana927 Her physique is amazing! Make sure you follow her!
Maybe now if I wear an upside-down-and-backwards visor, I'll still look as cool as 10-year-old baby J ONLY WITH SHE-HULK ARMS. 😍😂 Happy #transformationtuesday from me and my spunky third-grade self. Love that girl. 😘
Lookin a hot MESS but so so so PUMPED because the little girls mom that I met on the beach literally YESTERDAY (chatted about in last post) signed up for her gym membership at @anytimefitnessmerrillvilleeast today as well as UNLIMITED training. 💪🏻💪🏻She has unlimited amounts of group training (1 hour sessions; in a group setting of 1-6 people), one-on-one training as well as virtual training. Today we took her before measurements/weight/bf %, went over meal plans and killed abs & legs. AND she’s coming back in tmrw at noon. Sorry for all the caps but common. 😮I am so happy for her. She cried mid workout today because she said “she was so thankful for meeting me and she can’t believe that she is in the gym, working towards a life change.” Her drive is seriously awesome. This is why I do what I do. I am going to keep her accountable, even when motivation gets rough. I plan on even meeting her at her beach home for a beach workout, if she doesn’t feel like comin to the gym some days👙🏖 HERES TO DAY ONE MICHELLE. 🥂💓
So my gym is currently shut down which suuuuucks because it has made it difficult to get a workout in during my weekends. Buuuut not impossible😉 you can always do a quick workout in your home or go outside and enjoy some fresh air while putting in that work💪☀️ P.s. leggings are from @emonifit
Remember when ‘thigh gaps’ were a thing?
What a time it was to be alive if you were naturally curvy.
I admit, I was one of those girls who wanted a ‘thigh gap’. It was all the rage a few years ago. So much so that I made that my ‘goal’! (So sad I know)
I’d often look at other women’s figures and think ‘I want her body’. I’d then scroll aimlessly through her feed trying to find what she ate and what her training regime was like. In my mind I felt that if I did what she was doing, I would look like her.
Oh how wrong I was.
The best thing I ever did in my life was accepting the natural shape of my body. And making the decision that what was in ‘fashion’ at the time wouldn’t influence the way I viewed and appreciated my body.
But I can guarantee that there is a small framed woman reading this thinking “I just want to grow my booty”. And no matter what she is doing in the gym, her small frame wants to stay that way. And she feels bad about that.
If you are naturally more curvy - good on you, love your body in all its glory!
If you are naturally smaller - good on you, don’t let the ‘big butt and small waist’ fashion trend get to you. Rock your small frame and love it for all its glory.
The only thing that will remain consistent in your life are your genetics. So find exercise that brings your heart joy. Don’t slug it out at a gym that you hate because you want to add a few cms to your glutes. Stop fighting your genetics. Accept them. Appreciate them and love them ♥️
Just a quick reminder for ya’ll that the beauty industry relies on us to feel unhappy with and ashamed of our bodies - that’s how they sell their products, they want to make us feel like we need them to be more beautiful/accepted/worthy/cool. I’m here to tell ya that you’re beautiful regardless. Hope you’re having a fab day guys, you deserve it xoxo

I had my first day of rehab yesterday at @londonregionalvet and I did so well 🙌 my little leggie is a bit more stiff this time around so I have to take my progression of exercises a bit slower but I'm workin on it - 4 weeks down, 8 to go until I can zoom around again!
