I have my last session for my PT course tomorrow and just my final plan to finish I am sooo excited to start training people.
No doubt it’s been hard I’ve doubted myself along the way saying it’s taken me longer than expected but I have to be real I work 40+ hours a week, train 5 times and week and obv I’m an amazing house wife so it’s not easy.
It’s hard not to compare yourself to people who do it better or quicker but remember their life isn’t your life, no doubt I do it myself and it often takes Perry to give me a pinch and bring me back to reality! your life is yours and we all have to cope with different situations.
I’m proud of myself for taking he leap to do it and I can’t wait for the result to be able to train people and actually enjoy my job 👏👏😊🙏

superset - leg extension 2x10 single leg 3x10 both legs -leg press 2x10 single leg 3x10 both legs 83-107kg both legs
10 minute ab exercises
i always use enough weight to challenge myself, but not overdo it, form is more important imo. focus on the muscle youre workong on. now time for protein shakes and an epsom salt bath ♡

It’s 3am and I ate all my Quinoa Breakfast Bites (because there’s never a bad time of the day for breakfast) so I’ll confess that this image is from Google, not my kitchen😂🤷🏼♀️ I put my own twist on a recipe I found, but since y’all have been begging for the recipe from my IG story, here goes:
➖Whisk 3 eggs in a bowl with cooked quinoa & sautéed spinach (and any other ingredients you want to add!)
➖Pour into a muffin pan and douse each muffin with cheese🧀🧀🧀
➖Bake at 350 for 7 minutes and ENJOY!

I had planned to do a workout yesterday and in the end I didn’t 🤷🏼♀️ I had enough time, I was feeling well enough to do it, but I just didn’t feel like going to the gym.. Today was going to be a rest day but I’m going to train later on, not because I feel guilty for not training yesterday, but because I want to 👊
It’s very normal and very healthy not to stick to your plan every day; it’s important that you can change what you had planned and not let it get you down or stress you out 🙅🏼♀️
Remember - there’s so much more to life than just going to the gym so don’t let it affect your day if things don’t turn out how you’d hoped or if you just decide to take a day off 😊💆🏼♀️💖🌸🌈🌟💕✨

Trusting the process? To be quite honest, I don’t always trust it lol but I do often tell myself to just keep going no matter what my mind’s telling me. We’re all on a journey & if that journey was easy, it’d be pretty dull & boring, right? Believe me, no ones journey is a straight road & no one is perfect nor will they ever be.
I remember when my obsession was weight loss, but when was I ready to accept that I couldn’t lose weight forever? That’s why I began strength training, as it’s a hobby that I can always improve on without the scale being the deciding factor if I was successful or not. Fitness isn’t just about weight loss, there’s so much more to it than that. If you solely put your happiness & contentment into a number decreasing on the scale, I guarantee that when that number hasn’t dropped, you’ll feel like a failure. It’s sad, but true. The second you detach from it & stop determining your self worth against a number of pounds, you’ll realise what you’re truly capable of💪🏼✨

Having the time of my life Bali 🌴💕.
For the first time in while I’m feeling comfortable in my own skin on holiday & that’s got nothing to do with looking aesthetically any different , BUT embracing my body for what it is and enjoying myself. #selflove TIIINNNGG! .
💉I currently have my @dexcom G5 on and I thought I would feel self conscious wearing this continuous glucose monitor on my body in a bikini, but I’ve embraced it and I can’t begin to explain how much it has transformed my diabetes management! I’m going to write a little review on the device and my experience with it once I’ve finished my month trial, but I am currently loving it- I’m able to see my BG readings 24/7 on my phone ! Bloody amazing ! (Pardon the pun 💉)

Get a train to Edinburgh, go to @element , order the shakshuka, take a bite, close your eyes & listen to the angel chorus 🙌🏻

Saturday workout vibes. Those days when you just fancy moving a little and can’t get to the gym! I grab my dumbbells and my @peach_band and just move my body. This workout was one I did in the week. Sometimes I plan what I want to do other times I just move! I did 15 reps of everything 4 times! - banded squat jumps

Full Leg Workout 🍑 Here’s what I did today at @easygym and DAYUM it made me 💦 Every exercise I did 4 rounds of 8-10 reps with a focus on slow controlled movements - the video is double speed! ➡️ Barbell squats (chest up, core tight, stabilise your knees) ➡️ Sumo deadlifts (push your knees out and keep them stable throughout the movement) ➡️ Hip thrusts (squeeze at the top!) ➡️ Bulgarian split squats (focus on depth here, and putting your weight through the front heel) ➡️ Walking lunges straight into jumping lunges (again, depth is key) 💪🏼 Wearing head to toe @adidaslondon 💃 Why am I barefoot on squats and deadlifts? For me, it’ll never be about looking a certain way.
*Oh you say that because you have ‘abs’, it’s easy for you to say that*.
Yup, that is the number one response I get. I actually get way more people that I honestly would like to, at my gym, asking me why I train and what do I train for. Because people assume that if you want to ‘be fit’ then you need to ‘look fit’. And for 99% of those people to ‘look fit’ means to ‘have abs showing’.
Correct me if I’m wrong but having a low body % doesn’t really mean that you ‘look fit’. If you take a look at bodybuilding competitors, I wouldn’t necessarily say they ‘look fit’ or that they ‘are fit’ - I would rather say they look muscular. Toned. Bodybuilding is part of fitness and to go to such extremes with your body and risking your hormonal and electrolyte balance is a choice some people make, but it is definitely not the definition of fitness (well, the name itself is body+building, not ‘fitness’ so 🤷♀️).
For me, being fit, having a ‘fit body’, means having a healthy body. A balanced body. A body that has muscle AND fat. A body that you can treat well and allow you to live your life. Something sustainable.
You know how in reverse dieting you slowly walk dieting calories back up after a diet phase (a softer version of the catabolic state I was at) so that you don’t gain that much fat? Well, that’s what I wanted during these weeks. I wanted to gain fat. Having fat IS important and I’m pretty sure that a 3-4% of body fat body can afford it.
I already have so many scars and one is definitely the way I look. Yes, I am not skinny by choice and no matter how much peanut butter I eat I still look skinny (although I think that by now, the composition of my blood is just liquid peanut butter). If I could change that I would.

It may be 327 degrees outside ☀️ But I am still loving my carrot cake oats at the weekends 🥕 I am meeting a friend for a cuppa this morning, then heading to the gym for my usual “just do whatever I fancy by throwing myself around + getting sweaty” Saturday workout 💦 Then I think am gonna just enjoy some of this beautiful sunshine! Since conquering my fear of me sea over the last year or so (FU sharks 🦈) every time we get super hot weather now I just desperately want to go in the sea - I know Mum, Dad, John, Will ... I’ve gone a bit crazy 🤦🏻♀️ So I am really looking forward to my first beach trip of the year!!! 👙🏖

HEALTHY BROWNIES SAY WHAT 🙋♀️ RECIPE 👇
Courgette brownies - 97 cals each 10C 5F 3P ✨
Makes 12, and best kept refrigerated served with a dollop of “cream” and strawberries 😉
➡️ 1 grated courgette ➡️ 1 egg ➡️ 40g Sweet Freedom Syrup (or honey/maple) ➡️ 70g 0% Greek Yog
➡️ 110g Coarse Wholemeal Flour ➡️ 25g Cacao Powder ➡️ 10g Milled Flaxseed ➡️ 15g Dark Choc chips for toppings ➡️ 1 tsp vanilla extract/stevia ➡️ 1 tsp Baking Powder .
Preheat oven to 180 degrees, and line a baking tray (8x6 I think)🤣 Allow the courgette to soften in water while you whisk the wet ingredients together, and mix the dry ingredients separately. Combine and mix well before adding in the courgette (drain well). Simply spread into your lined tray, topped with chocolate chips and bake for ~20 mins 🤪
SO CHOCOLATEY AND AMAZING. .
And full of antioxidants ❤️ let them cool on a wire tray for a good hour before cutting, and keep refrigerated. If you have sweet tooth cravings, you need these in your life. Thank me later.😏

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a #transformation from before I got into fitness! I was as unhealthy as you can get, I used to eat 6000+ calories daily which was mostly junk food. I used to live off KFC almost everyday. Every night I’d eat 2 ice creams, popcorn, cookies, crisps etc. I’d have donuts for breakfast or even sometimes ice cream 🤦🏾♀️ Constantly eating Cinnabon and Krispy Kreme‘s and drinking way too many soft drinks! Would barely eat at home and always order in food. I never did any exercise and tried to avoid walking as much as I could!! I was the very definition of out of shape and very unhealthy. I’m so happy that I got into fitness and developed such a passion and love for it! I honestly don’t know where I’d be right now if I hadn’t changed my habits!! 🙈 Currently I train 5-6 times a week, eat wholesome foods and toss in a few treats because well BALANCE 😉 It took me many years of ups and downs to finally get to the place I’m in right now and I’m still learning and growing everyday, you never stop!! 💕

I’ve woken up full of fears and doubts this morning 🙋🏼😩
If you’ve seen my stories you’ll know that on Monday I officially start a 12 week lifestyle rehaul with a coach. I’m not calling it a diet or training program - because it’s seriously going to encompass a lot more than that.
I’m in such a tricky spot with my body right now, and left to my own devices all I want to do is train harder and keep self-sabotaging my food intake. I thrive off control - but in a body that’s now very much out of my control, my efforts are becoming so futile and if anything, counterproductive.
I honestly have no idea how my body will now respond to no cardio (seriously send help) and MORE food - and after my recent experience with rapid weight gain and metabolic deregulation, I am terrified that it’s only going to get ‘worse’.
I honestly just have to trust the process, warn those around me that I’m going to be cranky af for the first few weeks, and most importantly, remind myself that f*ck yes Steph; you are finally putting your health first ✌🏻💕

Are you doing a sumo DEADLIFT OR SQUAT
There are some small differences between the two SO HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP! .
A deadlift is predominately a hip hinge movement. Your knees do bend but the biggest range of motion comes from the flexion of the hips. In other words you push your bum backwards as you lower the weight rather than just dropping your hips downwards as you do in a squat.
A squat does require hip hinging but the biggest range of motion is in the knees meaning your bum is lowered in the movement rather than pushed backwards.
They are VERY similar exercises so it’s easy to get confused. It’s taken me a long time to realise this myself.❗️NEITHER OF THESE ARE WRONG❗️but if you are doing it how I am in the second video then this is showing more characteristics of a SQUAT rather than a DEADLIFT 🙌🏻
