Stayed here for one night thinking that I'd love to wake up to this! Elephants from the orphanage are brought to the river(4 times a day) and the hotel I stayed is right in front of the area. I woke up at 8 in the morning and waited a bit at the table on my balcony. There was no tourist around and I was the only person staying at the place so I could peacefully enjoy my breakfast/elephants' bathtimes. These creatures are lovely and smart!❤ But after seeing them being chained up and being used for money, I decided not to go to the orphanage(kinda gave me an idea that it's more of a tourist attraction than an orphanage). Still think waking up to the elephants in the morning and seeing them bathing&playing in the water were worthwhile experieces though☺
PSA: If you know me, you know that I am completely infatuated with national parks. Quite literally my dream job is to be a national park ranger! Over the next 5 weeks, I will be visiting 16 US National Parks (as well as countless National Monuments and State Parks!). So if you love nature, be sure to follow along! 💚
Have you visited any of the National Parks of the United States? I'd love to hear which was your favourite park that you have visited in the comments below. 💬
Just outta here minding my (monkey) business 🐒⛵️😜 ⠀
One little snippet of the crazy adventures and all the fun we had on board the @inadventures.travel sailing boats while cruising around Mallorca... the view up there was stunnnning! 🙌🏽 ⠀
Would you do it? 😁
Hi, I'm Carolyn, hostess of La Dolce Vita Retreat coming at you from Athens, Greece today. If you're new to my feed, let me tell you: I am totally in love with travel. Each year, I undertake several international trips myself, and also some with my husband. Travel has been an important part of my life since I was a little girl who read in the backseat during the trans-American road trips my family would take each summer. Since those first car trip days, I've been fortunate to visit many different countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South and Central America. If I can just get myself to Antartica and Australia, I'll have been to every continent! This is my first visit to Greece, and I'm enjoying it so far. If you’ve been here and have some recommendations, I’d love to hear them.
Do you share my passion for travel? If so, let me know your dream destination!
You know how I know Mother Nature has a sense of humor? Fairy Chimneys.
These enormous marvels of nature, created with volcanic ash & basalt, poke out all over the land in Cappadocia. She had millions of years to shape them with erosion, millions of years of thinking time, & she chose to shape them like penises.
I loved exploring San Francisco with my sister! We do a lot together, but usually it revolves around our little ones! It was nice spending hours shopping with no complaining 🙌🏻! .
Plus I didn’t have to share my yogurt with anybody! 🍦❤️
Except ask @happyconfetti what happened to her yogurt when we got to the car. It may have flew all over her, the car, and all of her stuff! Lol 😂❤️ #sisters#sheexplores 📷@shandrupphotography
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust.
It took me leaving New Zealand for a few years and coming back to fully realise what an astounding country I come from.
I grew up thinking it was totally normal having a beautiful beach down the road, hiking in rainforests and going to the snow every winter.
Leaving and seeing more of the world has made me so much more grateful to call New Zealand home and every day I see it with brand new eyes.
I'm so thankful to have seen more of the South Island recently with @straynz, seeing so many unique landscapes and taking part in the most memorable experiences.
I hiked on a glacier, saw local whales, did sooo many great walks, stayed off the grid in Fiordland, cruised through Milford Sound, bungy jumped off a bridge, saw the most incredible water I've ever seen (Lake Pukaki), I even explored Stewart Island (what a paradise!).
Every day left me blown away by the beauty of New Zealand and left me even more head over heels.🌿💕 #proudkiwi
Have you felt this way about a country? Let me know which one!
When it's hot, you play around with water in a little pool. Those are the rules, I just follow them. Actually a candid shot of me for once, didn't know it was being taken. This exploring in the 35 degree heat is definitely something else. 😘
Floating away into the weekend 💦 Have you seen my blog post on Curaçao? Hit the link in my bio to see that and other recent blog posts! Currently working on posts for Wales, NYC rooftop bars, Alberta, Barcelona, and more. Is there any place you’ve seen me go that you’d really like to see a blog post for? Tell me in the comments! #RSJSinCuraçao@curacaotb
