Fitness is definitely a personal journey. A journey that takes a few weeks for some and years for others. This is my journey.
It wasn’t something I thought a lot about through high school and college. I spent 8 hours a day in a saddle convincing 1200 # animals to accomplish goals I had set for them.
Physical fitness played a large role in my day to day, but a healthy life style wasn’t something I took the time to think about.
After horses weren’t in my day to day and having 2 kids I stored away 80+lbs of “ where did this come from?!” weight. I felt bad, I ate bad, and I looked how I felt.
My husband and I finally decided we were going to change our lifestyle. No “dieting”, we wanted a lifestyle change that would give us long term results. So we started with what we were eating.
Around the same time @kitcatcardio and my brother-in-law were doing the exact same thing! Change is definitely easier if you have someone to go through the process with.
My husband and I started weeding out foods that had no business being in the fridge, cupboard, or offered to our children. At this point our son was living on veggies, hummus, and baked chips. Yay 3 year old odd diets.
Our diet is mostly plant based now, and leaning towards vegan. Once I find some replacements for my few habit foods, like my coffee creamer (coffee is life) dairy will be out the door with the rest of the foods we’ve removed.
Now that our diet is in the right track and improving daily we have the energy to enjoy or munchkins and the great outdoors the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
This is going to be a lifelong journey. A slow race to the ultimate goal. Enjoying everyday with my family and hopefully setting the best example for the munchkins.

Super nice four day backpacking trip on the Rae Lakes Loop in Sequoia National Park. Can’t think of a better way to kick off the summer.
A corner kick awarded to the attacking team when the ball leaves the field of play by wholly crossing the goal line without a goal having been scored, having last touched a player from the defending team. For the kick, the ball is placed within the corner arc closest to where it went out of play #worldcup2018#fifaworldcup2018#чемпионатмира2018

McNeil Point, although I have yet to make it to the top (thanks ice), is one of my favorite hikes on earth now. So much sheer beauty in all directions 🏞 It looks big till you see Mt. Hood right behind it 🙈
Solid day today!
Woke up, spent 2 hours working Witness the Sickness 8A. Did it in 2 overlaps.
Drove back and climbed Impala 8A, then flashed the @dawoods89 bloc Bushoning 7C and then the right alternative Bushwhacker 7B+. On top of this, @imogenclimbs climbed her first 8A, The Hatchling! Mega!! Great to see @beastlysquirrel crush it too!
The Secret Mine (Arab Fortress) from 14th century. The mine is reached by steps reached in zigzag pattern out of the rock and covered by ingenious system of overlapping vaults. With its innovative engineering and architectural solutions for overcoming the 80 metre drop between the town and the river, the mine is an extraordinarily well-preserved and unique structure in Spain.
This is what making movies looks like. I wish you all the best brother. Keep working hard and stay true to yourself. Youre a real og.

Jacque and I were lucky enough to spend last night at @sunmountaincenter, an incredibly beautiful retreat center in Manitou Springs. We soaked, drank wine, did yoga and Acro, and overall recouped after the crazy weekend at Sonic Bloom and Red Rocks. What an incredible place! It’s a refurbished old house with incredible energy and decorations. A retreat here would be incredible... and may be in the works! Check out my Perma-Story on my page to see more about this place. @thedesertviper#manitousprings#sunmountain#yogaretreat
