#HairTip Have a Bun-day!
A messy bun or braid is ideal for keeping your hair under control and minimizing exposure to the sun. Tight hairstyles can be damaging because they tend to pull and tear hair, especially if your hair is dry from the summer heat.

#hairtiptuesday: NEVER CUT YOUR OWN BANGS! ✂️
Remember, if you are a client, you receive complimentary bang trims in between haircuts so you can avoid looking like this picture! 😜
Here’s a little #hairtiptuesday for ya! If you’re skipping a hair wash, before you get in the shower, brush your hair out, spray in some good quality dry shampoo (my fave is @randco), then twist your hair back and clip it up with a claw for your shower. The combo of the dry shampoo + steam will create some natural-looking waves, so by the time you’re done with your makeup, you can let your hair down, give it a fluff, and be good to go! 💁🏻♀️

Castor oil has antifungal properties and is rich in Vitamin E. Applying castor oil to hair daily and washing once or twice a week is recommended to promote hair growth. Since castor oil is thick and greasy, you may not feel comfortable applying it daily. If you can manage, it has many properties to benefit your hair and scalp.

Hair tip Tuesday! Thick pony tails can get tangled and crews your hair. Try elastic hair ties. Switch from drying your hair with a towel to an old shirt. This will reduce frizz. Be sure to brush your hair before washing. Hair is much stronger dry than wet. Then use a wide tooth comb to brush out after. #hairtiptuesday#lakesideroots#lakeconroe#hairstylists

#hairtiptuesday the LOC METHOD! I use this method all the time especially before I get ready to install a protective style such as braids, sew ins , or market twist. FIRST APPLY WATER (or a water-based leave-in) to moisturize the hair.
LIGHTLY SEAL THAT LAYER with your favorite oil.
NEXT, SEAL THAT WITH A BUTTER OR CREAM and style.
The idea behind the L.O.C. method is that each layer seals the one before it.This method is great for sealing in the moisture and achieving multiple day hair without re-upping on product application during the week. When I use the loc method I usually twist my hair and let it set overnight after I've applied the products. #hairtiptuesday#curlsnolye

#hairtiptuesday clean your brush at least once a month. By clean I mean remove all hair and shampoo your brushes. What I do is put them in the shower with me while I shampoo and they clean themselves while I rinse out the shampoo. A clean brush helps your hair to stay clean longer, and doesn't add build up. #hairtiptuesday#curlsnolye
I know we all experience these. Sometimes they can mean you need a good trim! If you've already had a trim and still see them a few things you could try are: ➰Do not give your hair the opportunity to coil up on it’s own: wear protective styles, braids, braid outs, twist outs or roller sets. For extra protection against knots, set the ends on rollers. ➰Deep condition or use deep treatments on your hair weekly and really focus on taking care of those ends. Healthy hair is less likely to tangle, mat and knot.➰Do thorough, but careful detangling. Use a seamless fine tooth comb after detangling with a wide tooth comb or your fingers (and perhaps a Denman brush). Always start and the ends and work your way up. ➰Stay away from towels and cotton. I never ever use towels or cotton on my hair. They can snag on curly and kinky hair, causing split ends and those dreaded knots. ➰Keep your hands out of your hair. Too much manipulation will scratch the cuticle, wreak havoc and can lead to split or splitting ends and pixie knots. #hairtiptuesday#curlsnolye
