My best news of the day is receiving the photos of "house of hope #5". In 2017, through Catherina Tran Foundation, I meet the founder Anh Minh. He introduced me to a group of passionate volunteers in Ca Mau.
In January 2018, my Better Futures For Kids Foundation team when back to Vietnam on our annual mission trip to meet up with the group. They were so kind to take us around for the whole day. Walking in plus 45 degree temperature, my phone literally died from over heat. We travelled on fishing boats for 40 mins to visit very remote desperate families. The hard life here is just unbearable.
We meet an extremely poor family. A single father "Anh Thien" with 3 of his young children. After talking to Anh Thien and his daughter (the little girl washing the dishes) "Vy", we decided to for-filled their long dream
and build them their safe new home.
And now, the house is finished! This is not just a house. It is their home. It is their new chance to start over. It is their future.
Thank you so much to anh James Nguyen and 4 Anonymous donors (the donors are too humble to allow me to credit their names, they know who they are). You may feel it is a small contribution. But to anh Thien's family, it means the whole world. Thank you to all of the donors for your generosity and helping hand. May God blessed you.
I hope this bring a smile to your face knowing that 4 lives were changed by you. ❤️🌸 #love#hair#instagram#instadaily#changes#charity#toronto#vietnam#giving#makeadifference#children#peace#beavoice#charity#mission#helpkidstoschool#childrenoftheworld#worldvision#stopchildsexslavery#canada#vietnam

Happy International Women's Day to all my FB friends.
As a woman with so much privilege, I live in this freedom country like Canada. I get to be who I want to be, pursue my dreams, have the basic human rights...etc.
But there are girls my age, or even 47 months old on the other side of the world that do not have such privileges. They are forced into child sex slavery as young as 47 months old. They are forced to work as young as 6 years old. They are forced to get married at 11 years old to pay their family debt. They are not allowed to dream, hope, love, speaks or even think.
Going on Better Futures For Kids Foundation Mission Trip every year to see these girls and children, they have made me realize how truly lucky and blessed I am. I could have been them if I was still in Vietnam.
Therefore, on this International Women's Day, I want to wish and pray for all the girls and women in the world that don't have the life of their dream.
Join me and let raise awareness against human trafficking and child sex slavery. To be a voice against woman violence and abused.
No help is too small. You can do more than you think. ❤️💕🌸 Photo: from Iphone. The children we saw in the H-Mong ethnic village near Lao Cai. ❤️ #love#hair#instagram#instadaily#changes#charity#toronto#vietnam#giving#makeadifference#children#peace#beavoice#charity#mission#helpkidstoschool#childrenoftheworld#worldvision#stopchildsexslavery#canada#vietnam
Since it's cold today, it reminds me 4 weeks ago when we were in Sapa on our mission trip.
This year was the coldest year We have ever experienced. I had 5 sweaters, 2 sweat pants and 2 thick socks and I was still cold. In the mountains, these children have no electricity. There are no heaters and the weather was cold and humid. Everyday, I would feel damp cold that is unbearable. Yet, many children have no shoes to wear... no pants to keep them warm.
Going on these mission trip have taught me so much about perspective. Before I would feel sad or complain about not having this or that. Before I would have so much ego and everything is about me.
But to see these children who have nothing yet, they are happy and grateful have made me realized how selfish I have been all my life.
I care too much about things or people that don't bring peace to my heart or help me grow as a person. I chase after love that had conditions. But these kids have taught me to love, give without conditions.
I now learn what unconditional love is and what it means to give without asking for anything back.
I encourage, I challenge anyone who loves to go have a life changing experience, to join us next year. Together, we can make this world a peaceful, loving place if we give up ourself. 🌸💕 ❤️ #love#hair#instagram#instadaily#changes#charity#toronto#vietnam#giving#makeadifference#children#peace#beavoice#charity#mission#helpkidstoschool#childrenoftheworld#worldvision#stopchildsexslavery#canada#vietnam
On my mission trip in 2016, I visited a village that was 45 minutes from Sapa. The road going up there was all rocks. I felt as if I was on a rollercoaster. As we were giving out food and blankets, I saw a few kids playing with each other. I noticed a special boy and I decide to talk to him. He designed it a yo-yo toy out of a thrown away bicycle wheel. I asked for his name I cannot remember it because it was a different dialect from what I know. All I remember was he was around 10 years old, he play with a wheel toy and he had 8 brothers and sisters. I asked him if he could have A wish, what would it be? He answered: I want to have a bicycle to go to school.
In 2017, our group went back to the same village. I asked Father Thanh to help me find a Bicycle so I can give it to him. Father asked me what's his name? Father asked me where does he live? I replied I don't know. All I know is he lives near Sapa, he has eight brothers and sisters, and he had a wheel toy. Father looks at me as if I was crazy but he still did what I requested. He told me that it will be very hard to find who I'm looking for. I replied to Father, I will leave it in Gods hands.
Make a long story short, God answer my prayers and I was able to find him and give him the bicycle. The face in this photo of him melts my heart and make me keep coming back to see him.
My team and I had to take a 3 hours plane flight from Saigon to Ha Noi , 6 hours drive to Sapa, 45 minutes drive on the worst road to get to his village with his bike at the back of the van. I remember the Van was small, Thu, Nhat, Warren and I all squeezed in the back seat like face to face lol. Poor Thu, his shoulder was my pillow for most of the car travel😂. Special thank you to Thu🙏. My team was so wonderful and I had such a memorable journey with them. #happiness#love#hair#instagram#instadaily#changes#charity#toronto#vietnam#giving#makeadifference#children#peace#beavoice#charity#mission#helpkidstoschool#childrenoftheworld#worldvision#stopchildsexslavery#canada#vietnam
I promise to find help for you, Trang. If any of you know any doctors or contacts that can help TRANG, please let me know. It breaks my heart to see her like this. Such a beautiful sweet 18 years old girl, both parents died and she only have her lil sister left. Trang comes from a very poor ethnic village in Lang Son. Now, she is well cared for by the Sisters that is looking after the school that Help Kids To School Foundation (www.helpkidstoschool.org) and our lovely DONORS have build in Lang Son 2013. The doctors in Vietnam says she have no hope, but I believe, we can help her.
In Trang case, no need to donate money to us. I'm good with doing hair and charity fundraising, but this, I have no glue.
If anyone knows any organizations, doctors or connection to help her, they can take over and help her directly. Contact me for her info.
Please spend the word!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone! xoxo #charity#children#kids#sickkids#childreninneed#helpkidstoschool
