Barnett Vineyards | 2013 | Cabernet Sauvignon | Rattlesnake | Spring Mountain | We made a trip to LA, and finally got around to meeting the crazy man himself @harmacist who ended up bringing this magical treat. Notes of dusty blackberries, black raspberries, cassis, black currant, spiced plum, vanilla, menthol, and crushed minerals. Nice balance on the mouthfeel, the fruit is pure but shows restraint with secondary layers of earth and spice just barely becoming more pronounced. Almost feels medium bodied, this Cab is well structured and has the acidity to carry this on for a while. Should be slowly heading to its window in 5-7 years but has plenty of tannin/fruit ratio to hold the structure together for the next 10-15. Mountain juice is always a treat. | 94+ points | $175 |

Harvest is right around the corner here in the states and I am EMOTIONAL.
It was hard missing the opportunity for a Southern Hemisphere harvest so I could start grad school, and harder now seeing the season coming right here in our own backyard.
That being said, I’m pretty darn excited to be heading up marketing at @btlbarn and start getting my MBA in Wine Business at @sonomastateuniversity this fall.
I’m learning so much every day about the wine industry and marketing as a whole, and can’t wait to see where this all takes me.

Yes, it's early but throwback to the best gelato ever @colettagelato. So silky-smooth and intense in flavor. Literally, takes you to the streets of Italy.
