Today’s ride by the numbers. Elevation ~7000 feet, distance 100 miles, elevation gain 4900, temp 85, wind steady at 20 gusts to ?, humidity 6%. Outside the humidity pretty good prep for Kona bike course I’d say. The open space never get old. #ironmantraining#teamzoot#roadtokona#beatyesterday
Finally shed enough lbs from knee surgery and off season to rock this awesome @bettydesigns F🦋ckcancer Jersey ❤️ thanks @remynlouie for the jersey this one means so much!!!! Got in a nice brick bike and run, cooler weather makes it for a way more enjoyable ride!! And knowing there’s an ice cold @skratchlabs coffee recovery drink waiting for you makes it even better 😋
Tough week for some of our athletes @teamtriguru with multiple riders involved in a couple of accidents at a local Team time trial. .
Season ended and long recoveries awaiting some of the team. Goals put on hold, dreams pushed back but not over. .
This was the image posted by one of the team, in his hospital bed while awaiting surgery... With a positive mind set, anything is possible. Love our club and the athletes in it. Inspirational. .
Can’t believe it’s been a week already since o competed in the Ironman 70.3 European championships. Very very happy with my 1:15 #halfmarathon off a 90km bike, the next fastest run split in my age group was 6 minutes back! @trainxhale@britisharmytri
Jumping on a plane back to Norway 🇳🇴 tomorrow.
Last time in 2016 I was in lean, race mode for @imhaugesund 70.3.
This time, I am feeling far from my best. I'm not as thin, I'm definitely not as fast and to be honest I'm not really ok with it.
I hate how much the lack of training can impact my body image and make me uncomfortable in my own skin!
Took both bikes 🚴♀️ to the @trekbikes store in Chicago (yes! didn't have to drive all the way to the suburbs for it) and got the tuneups that will pretty much clean them completely. My wallet is a bit sad 🤣 but I'm so excited to get both back, clean, tire replaced and ready to ride when they're ready.
I got my first flat in almost 2 years so I guess it was bound to happen. I've also always just done the basic tune up for my road bike so I felt it needed a little more 💕 this year. Just a couple of months to go and we'll be riding together for straight 112 miles 🙆♀️ To treat ourselves, we got @stansdonutschicago#nomnomnom.
Hello beautiful, sunny meters. I think I love you. This swim.... I forgot my watch.... The data driven triathlete inside of me was ticking, but I heard my coach in my head (Him: who wears a Garmin in the pool anyway? Me: ummm... About everyone I know?!) But I shut off that crazy and just swam. I will admit it was freeing. I even added an extra 800.... Today? Well, I remembered my watch. 😂🤷🏼♀️ #findingnemo#allfortheswim#painhunter#justswim#dontgetusedtoit#thegrind#thisisus
“The race always hurts. Expect it to hurt. You don’t train so it doesn’t hurt. You train so you can tolerate it.” . .
I have shared this quote here before, but I needed to share it again today as a reminder to myself. this picture is from my 90 mile ride yesterday it was very rugged mentally and physically. I hit over 5700 feet of elevation and dealt with significant head and cross winds all day. I was fighting off tears during the last 10 miles of the ride, but I got it done!! .
Today I have a 20 mile run to push through on some very dead tired legs. I’m trying to figure out how to tackle it as it is really going to hurt!! .
How do you get through big back to back workouts?? Do you have any good tips for me?
