Since I didn't do as good as I wanted to in my very first kayak bass fishing tournament, here's a picture of my biggest bass in the tournament. A 17.50in largie. The first day I was nervous. I missed the hook set on my frog a couple times until I finally got a good hook set and landed my first fish. After that, I relaxed more and got in the zone. My first rookie mistake was landing a 12.50in bass and having it flop off the measuring board before I could take a picture. With 1hour left on the first day, I had 4 fish at about 65in. I needed 1 more fish to get my limit which was really key. I choked. I missed 3-4 blow ups on my frog and missed 2-3 bites on my punch rig. I finished day 1 with about 65in and was sitting at 40th place out of 78 anglers. Knowing I needed a limit on the first day I knew I was doomed. Second day was a total flop. I tried a new area and caught 1 small largie and a ton of pike and dogfish. Overall I was content on how I fished. There are things I would have done differently but that's how fishing goes. Although I didn't even come close to making the money, I had a ton of fun. I love the kayak bass fishing community. This definitely won't be my last tournament. Thanks to @kayakbassfishing for hosting such an awesome tournament. #kayak#kayakfishing#kayakbassfishing#bassfishing#jacksonkayak
Another milestone today as the unofficial Hero Hauler #3 goes into service🇺🇸 Thanks to the 50+hours of a massive junker trailer re-build by Ryan Tranchita and Eric Zep , which was completed this past week. Now Heroes on the Water - Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter will have an additional asset available for a smaller scale outing or link up with the two official Chapter Trailers currently in service.
Thanks to Ryan and Eric, Wisconsin Heroes now have a full range of resources to deploy. Whether a small 2-3 person outing, which is the cornerstone of our mission, PADDLE. FISH. HEAL, or a full scale event ranging from 20-30 participants. Ryan and Eric are Heroes to our Heroes🇺🇸
When your wife knows what you need and who you are in your inner most being, she sends you to refresh and refuel. I don’t like using social media to brag about my marriage but behind every one of my fish or ducks is an amazingly supportive wife @rachelgulla
