We’re at lunch in our hotel right now looking out at a beautifully misty ocean and Luke has gone to fix the babe monitor so we can watch James while we eat. I wanted to just write about what a tremendous husband, father, and worker he is. I think I find this out more every day but maybe especially so this week. We’re visiting a favorite childhood vacation spot of his and his delight in showing it to me and James is my favorite. He’s also doing such a great job being faithful to his work squeezing in time to send emails and not get behind even when he’s on a break. I’m just really really proud of him. Also he is ok with my asking total strangers to take family pictures of us even though I know his introvert side is internally screaming. Keeper.
As we move through the Terrible Twos and get ever closer to Ivy becoming a Threenager I am definitely finding myself drawn to books which encourage good behaviour. This bright and colourful book is the best one I have come across so far.
The simple format makes this a really easy book to read with kids and you can either work from start to finish or just dip in and out. Each double page spread presents you with a ‘rule’ for good behaviour and an accompanying picture. The illustrations are ace – they make Ivy laugh and they hammer home the points made using a variety of cute and quirky characters. The tortoise is our personal favourite!
It’s a chunky book which covers lots of different behaviours, from serious ones (about crossing the road, not playing with matches and keeping your seat belt on) to matters of etiquette (like not speaking with your mouth full, saying please and thank you and asking for permission before you borrow something). There are also some gross ones mixed in which are guaranteed to cause a giggle – like not peeing in the pool, picking your nose or wiping your hands on the curtains.
This is a great book for starting a conversation about rules or reinforcing what your child already knows. It’s very light-hearted but ultimately some of the advice in there could save little lives!

My girl is looking so grown up 😭
We had a meal in the hotel restaurant, where she sang everyone a lovely song and told us she's not sure she knows how, or likes talking quietly 🤷🏼♀️ can't say fairer than that 😂
Guys, we’re at the half way mark. Only three weeks left of the summer holidays! 🙈👊🏼
He’s been loving life, having play dates, holidays... Aaaaand it’s also been crazy, he’s driving us nuts, there’s no routine. BUT, we’re kinda having the best time 🌞
I do think it’s time to start reminding him school is coming though. To get back to using a pencil, going through the alphabet, getting to grips with books and actually SITTING DOWN again. Or else September 5th will be a bit of a shock to the system! 😬 #summerholiday#halfwaythere

This kid got up this morning, dressed herself in last year’s flamingo Halloween costume and said “Mommy I wish I had wings like a bird so I could fly !” 😍🙌🏼😍 I used to pretend/imagine I could walk on the ceiling - free from gravity 🤩 (and dirt 😂) What did you dream of doing when you were a kid?

‘Eh Mama, I drying my own hairies tonight, ok?’. I wish you could babe, it would save me a job! I only wash her hair once (or maximum twice) a week at this age because I’m trying, as much as I can, not to strip it of its natural oils. Don’t get me wrong, we have days (especially in this heat wave!) where it needs washed thanks to the bucket loads of sand and sun cream in it but I try to minimise washing as much as possible. We’ve used the @johnsonsbabyuk hair care range from day one. Way back when she was a teeny bean it was the traditional Yellow bottle Baby Shampoo and now she’s a bit older, we love the Shiny Drops range. It smells great and leaves her hair looking lovely and shiny and feeling super soft. Her favourite products are her conditioner sprays and I get in trouble if I forget to spray them in her hair before her 1845 post bath blow dry appointment in my bed room haha. Oh the life of a four year old…
Niin paljon rakkautta, mun tyypit 🖤
Meillä on ollut superkiva päivä tänään! Pyörähdetty Ikeassa (taas vaihteeksi😂) , puistoiltu Nepun kans ihanien ystävien seurassa ja tietty käyty katteleen talon edistymistä.✨ Huomenna tämä mama nautiskelee kampaajan käsittelyssä! 💇🏼♀️
