Good morning from Green Gate Farm. We’ve had a lovely weekend watching rugby, drinking cider from @franks_cider_bar_and_cafe and phaffing about finding homes for things we got our of the storage shed.
With the best of intentions we got our green gates and @greengatefarmer started planning the picket fence that will form the entrance to the house. It’s going to look so pretty when it’s done.
Last night I ventured into the horrendous piece of architecture we call our current kitchen. The idea of whipping up a carbonara with some yummy pasta from @salamanca_fresh was short lived. Seriously. Dealing with a stove that has lopsided elements -only two of which work-and not enough room for the two pots you can use simultaneously (I kid you not) makes cooking the simplest meal an effing joke. I cannot wait for the new kitchen to be installed. The idea of having a dishwasher again is sending me into raptures.
Ps: if you’ve never seen lustreware called genie glass before. Check out my current story. I got three bottles at auction last week for $15. They’re so cute.
Have a lovely day 😃😁
I really need to learn how to cook. My kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in our house and it was one of the most challenging to design. I always knew I wanted to tear out the weird mini wall with the window dividing it into two smaller rooms and then tear out the wall between the kitchen and den to open up the space with a peninsula counter. I was sad I had to close up the second window in the kitchen, but the door leading to the back porch is all glass so I like to keep the blinds open and let all the natural light in. Still undecided if I even want to add in pendant lights or not. Next house project will be transforming my back deck. Should I post more house photos, or nah?
Sweet Sunday shine! ✨ we had such a good weekend, can we just pause it.. it's approaching my daughters 17th bday.. 📆📅📆👈literally that emoji is for her ❤️ #july17th#seventeen celebrations 🎉

Kitchen cabinets are going in today 🙌🏻🙌🏻 appliances installed yesterday. It’s coming together...finally starting to look like a home and not just a construction zone! HVAC begins tomorrow and windows are due to arrive next week too. Did I mention we move in 6 days 😳 No turning back now! #homesweethome#diy#1900victorian#fixerupper#foreclosure#kitchenremodel
Happy Sunday y’all!! In addition to interior design, I really love to cook! When it came time to redesign our kitchen a few years ago, I knew I wanted to do something a little different with the cabinets. I definitely love the gray tones but didn’t want painted cabinets. I found these beautiful gray tone stained cabinets and to this day I’m still in love with them!
The shitchen is nearly gone! However, we didn't realise just how much of a mess the walls are behind- it's gonna be a much bigger job than we first thought! 🤦🏼♀️ Cannot wait to make this room the entertaining space we're dreaming of!
