Was going through the blogs of @minakshi_manjari , and I must say it is amazing. Yo! Meenu. Your blogs remind oneself of the beautiful dramatic expressions of yours all the time. Those are lovely.
So yup. After going through the latest blog of her, go check out.. (), I couldn't stop but start thinking about my happy things. And I thought, and thought and kept on thinking.
With this being June, I can't think of anything but summer holidays.
I don't know why, but inspite of living in a place that does justice to both summer and winter by the long vacations, me, and my friends have been so fond of summer holidays in particular. .
I remember those scorching afternoons with moms dozing off and that's when the real fun used to begin. We used to gather up from our respective manes and play like crazy humid negros, do a little party, may be an ice cream or two (yes, those were the things back then). Also, making the rooms cool and insulated and dark was a heck of a competition (we used to place layers and layers of linens atop the curtain rods to do so - crazy old times, huh) , not to think about air condition or any other fancy things.
Those were the days. .
A random almost deserted durga temple on the way to the main town (Gangtok)
Although the idols inside are surprisingly beautiful and the peace prevailing inside is serene. Should have taken the pictures, but didn't feel like disturbing the aura there.
The temple has a replica of Jagannath Puri idols, along with some other beautiful idols of Durga, Sri Krishna, and a unique Shiva Linga too, a "Parad Shiva Linga" made of Mercury as per MIL.
