Trips are always made better when you take the advice of a friend, as I’ve learned time and time again. One of our first stops in Athens was actually on the recommendation of a coworker who has probably visited Greece at least twenty times. The Plaka Stairs in Athens are a great place to people-watch and relax for a midday meal, and was the perfect intro to the city for us. We grabbed a simple but delicious meal at Yiasemi and made friends with the cat perched on the stairs with us. What recommendations do you have to share for Athens?

Do you recognise the little church in the photo by @matsview? If you’ve ever travelled by train on the famous Gotthard route, then you probably saw it three times… The little church perched on the hill in #Wassen in the @ferienregionuri is one of the best known churches in Switzerland, for good reason – it’s been an emblem of the #Gotthardrailwayline since its opening in 1882. The railway line is a bit confusing around Wassen, where it makes two double loops. This is fascinating for passengers, as they get to see the baroque church from three different angles: from above, at eye level and from below. Don’t just view it from the train. The village of #Wassen and the surrounding area are well worth a visit. Wassen is at 930 metres above sea level in the upper #ReussValley in the Canton of Uri. From here, you can head into the wild, romantic #Meiental and up to the #SustenPass.
