Last week, Thylar underwent an angiogram to gather more information on the cause of his stroke.
For those who may not know, and angiogram is a highly invasive test that requires insertion of a catheter through the groin into the femoral artery (see illustration). The results show that Thylar has NO internal carotid arteries—internal carotid agenesis. This leaves him with only two blood vessels supplying the brain: the vertebral arteries.
HOWEVER, the right vertebral artery shows occlusion, meaning THYLAR HAS ONE BLOOD VESSEL SUPPORTING INTRACRANIAL CIRCULATION: the left vertebral artery.
The next step involves his doctors discussing if bypass is a good option going forward.

Last weekend Kyle and I visited his family in Louisiana. It was such a great weekend. Loved finally meeting his extended family I had heard so much about and spending genuine time with them. Sunday morning we attended his Granny’s church where we heard a sermon on 1 Corinthians 13. Yes, a commonly preached chapter of the New Testament, but this guy gave me a new perspective and fresh look at this love chapter. 👉🏻Key takeaway: 1 Corinthians 13 is not a list of instructions, rather a list of descriptions.👈🏻 Meaning, it is not to be used as a list we strive to accomplish each day, checking off what parts of love we succeeded at that day. Instead, this list was written to be used as a litmus test. Instead of reading 1 Corinthians 13 as an instruction manual to love and striving to be patient and kind, free from jealousy, boastfulness, and pride, etc., this chapter was written as a description of real Christian love.
I think it’s a big step when you are cognisant to reflect the qualities listed in 1 Corinthians 13, even when it’s difficult to do so. But it’s next level when those qualities are what mark who you are as a person and become how others describe you. So, when I applied this litmus test on my own life, I’m here: I work at practicing patience, kindness, gratitude and avoiding jealousy, pride, and selfishness, but not to that next level love where it’s just second nature. But, as I spend more and more time in God’s Word, more and more time in conversations with Him, the more second nature it becomes. ❤️Legitimate Christ like love, comes from spending time with Christ himself.❤️ Only He can renew my mind and my heart to a place where despite my circumstances and despite how others treat me, I practice a 1 Corinthians kind of love towards them.
Colossians 3:10 reads, “Be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.” Allow yourself to be renewed as you spend time with your Creator and study His word, then you will become like Him, showing love for others that is next level.
