I booked this trip to go visit Rainbow mountain in Peru a few months ago. There are a couple of options to see this mountain, either as a day hike or a multi day. I choose the multi-day one , for the main reason of hoping to get some milky way photos , two day , one night hike. The hike started at roughly 14,000 feet and our group camped at 15,400 feet after hiking for 5 hours. By then the altitude had taken a toll on my body, got headache and symptoms of nausea were very much present. I skipped lunch and had a bit of soup for dinner. All my hopes of getting a photo of the milky way were dying. I pretty much crawled out of my tent at around 11:30 pm (I think) and then saw the milky way out there with the moon shining on it. I adjusted my tripod and my camera and started to take some photos with the altitude sickness that was still bothering me. Yes, this photo was taken an altitude of 15,400 feet and the snow capped mountain you see is of Ausangate Peak which stands at roughly 21,000 feet. Glad I was able to pull some photos. I did take some more at 2:30 am when the moon was completely down , but I liked this one, because the foreground was illuminated naturally by the moon. This photo was taken on May 23,2018.
The tripod you see on the photo is of another fellow hiker/photographer who was taking star trails.

Monument Valley is truly a one of a kind place. The popular tourist scenic pull off named Forest Gump Point is quiet at night, and I was able to capture the Milky Way rising at a nearby pull-off as the clouds slowly dissipated into the night. The cowgirl and her horse admiring the night sky as they pass by were a figment of my imagination at the time, so it’s only appropriate that I blend in their shadows to help convey the story of what might have been a time passed. —————
Melkeveien passerer hytta. Forsøkte å ta timelapse video, men av en eller annen grunn, så ble bildene bare dårligere og dårligere..... Tried to make a timelapse video of the milkyway passing the cabin, but the pictures only got more and more blurry...
