Fresh fruit and flowers in a property for sale make all the difference. The buyers really notice, sniff the flowers and squeeze the fruit. Oh yes they do! When they are not opening every drawer and cupboard looking for the ‘real story’! Fresh fruit (or should I say rotting ‘once fresh’ fruit) was the turning point for me for getting into real estate. I had styled up a vacant home for a prestige agent to find 6 weeks later, when I was packing up the home, my fresh limes had turned to rotten putrid syrup in the kitchen and my fresh flowers were dry sticks growing mould. Why didn’t the agent tend to the decaying produce during one of the many open homes? The place was so dusty too! It doesn’t take much. A rag from the real estate agents boot tool box? A wipe over the counters each week? I remember standing over the sink in that home, washing out my vases, saying to myself, ‘I’m going to enrol to get my real estate licence. Coz I can do better than this.’ 👊
