One of the most user friendly of #patanjali 's sutras is II.33 (book 2 sutra 33): Vitarka Badhane Pratipaksa Bhavanam. Translated to English its "when disturbed by negative thoughts , opposite ones should be thought of.
We all have our days where we think the worst is happening but if we can imagine an opposite scenario then at least we feel better energetically .
Another way to control a negative thought even before the thought overpowers us is to think of its after-effect. Stop and consider: "what will happen if I allow this thought to continue?"

Who doesn't love the weekend❓
So much more time to do the things we love!
BUT, is it undoing or hindering your progress. Be it, fitness, weight, emotional, sleep or any other type of goal, do they suffer because we say "screw it, it's the weekend".
We all deserve to embrace the things we enjoy when we have more time to do so. However, just be mindful that this could be a reason for not achieving the goal you strive for.
✅Enjoy a meal out - great - just reduce calories in other meals that day so you can still enjoy yourself and remain in a calorie deficit
✅Be active. Get out for a walk, play a sport, try something new, weekends are a key time to increase activity for many who have a sedentary job in the week
✅Keep some elements of your weekday routine that sets you up for a successful day in place. Do you meditate, do you practice gratitude - keep it regular and create that positive mindset EVERYDAY
✅More time = more potential snacking. Prepare for this, be aware of triggers and limit them. Have healthy alternatives
Take it at face value. If someone tells you that they are not looking for something serious and you are, then wish them good fortune and move on. It’s so easy to think that you can change that. #rodneysays
It is so easy to let the thoughts control the mind instead of the mind controlling the thoughts. Our thoughts can be like unruly children if we lack mental discipline. When we give our mind the opportunity to exercise and grow stronger, it gets better at releasing thoughts that do not serve us well, that are not productive, that take us to a negative place. [LET’S TALK GARBAGE] Garbage will have to go somewhere eventually. It doesn’t just disappear the second you throw it away or keep it out of your sight. It persists to exist, maybe not in your backyard, but it will reek in someone else’s. This is so important to keep in mind - when we order our food deliveries ( #waimai), when we forget to uncheck that “no utensils needed.” Everyone can be presentable and mannered when everything’s new and clean. How someone can show who he/she really is is through “the aftermath.” What happens when your desires are satisfied? What happens when it’s hard to give up the convenience? Over and over we repeat the busy cycle. Rushing from A-B in a perpetual state of ‘doing’. Our culture glorifies it, if you’re not busy, you’re lazy, if you’re not striving you’re not going to succeed. Where does this conditioning come from? .
I truly believe it’s possible to succeed, to achieve your goals and dreams without pushing yourself to a state of exhaustion, without compromising your self-care practices. Slow down to speed up. Do less to achieve more. .
For me, this is a constant practice, ever meditation I dive into I’m reminded of the potency of surrendering to the present moment and the power that comes from letting go of control. I definitely haven’t nailed it, but I’m working on it. Every. Single. Day. This is why it’s called a practice. 🙏Let’s all collectively make a choice to stop the glorification of busy. We are human beings not human doings.

Anybody else eats a whole #watermelon 🍉, a pound of cherries🍒 and strawberries 🍓and goes to sleep with an 8-month foodbaby? 😂 That was me yesterday. I am a HUGE fruit lover, and there were days when this type of meal was my everyday dinner. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad in eating lots of fruit, but moderation is the key to everything in life. The bloating is caused by the fermentation in our stomach, so it's not like you're intolerant to a certain type of fruit, but the amount of sugars and sugar alcohols do cause a discomfort. Especially if you already have some food in your digestion tract. For me, it's hard to say no to fruit when summer comes rolling in as it's so refreshing and full of water, but I have to keep track of my portion sizes.
