I freaking did it! 8 miles and back before the kids are up! #halfmarathontraining officially starts this week and I have my Run for the Warriors #5k next Saturday. May have to tweak training this week so I still have some juice left to go all out (as much as I can with high humidity). So damn excited! Also means it's time to start looking at gels and other refueling options. Any tips or suggestions?

Wow it’s been a while, with 4 weeks out, and another 4 of initial plodding -> slowly getting on the road I knew my race fitness would be poor but I just wanted to test out my foot at some speed and earn some points for our club!
40:56 over 10k, and a hillier one than I remember. Went off fast and blew up as expected, but overall a pleasing day with minimal pain
Do the T-Rex 🦖 (anyone else get t-rex arms when they run?!) 10 chilled miles with @doms_travel this morning who smashed out his longest run in a while 👊 I have to admit I struggled the first 4, but then found my rhythm and felt strong for the second half. So so impressed and inspired by so many of you this weekend! Some of you are still running, some of you are done. You have all been absolutely amazing. I'm very eager to find some trails now...

Пробег этой недели - 54 километра 📝. Меньше, чем обычно, т.к. за пару дней до вчерашнего забега я чуть снизила нагрузку😴. Это стоит делать в целях отдыха и накопления энергии, но как по мне, психологическая польза от такого разгруза даже больше☝
Когда мне предстоит старт или длительная сложная тренировка - я не загружаю себя накануне. Специально устраиваю легкую, приятную и короткую(!) тренировку. Такую, чтобы было ощущение "Что, а уже всее? Хочу еще-е-е...😣"
Оторваться от бега в тот момент, когда еще не насытился, еще кайфуешь, еще мало...
И вот это чувство словить, законсервировать и выпестовать. Тогда на старте вместо волнения и усталости роешь копытом землю и больше всего на свете хочешь просто БЕЖАТЬ.
Мне такая метода очень помогает 😃
Бегуны-спортсмены, делитесь как делаете подводку к соревнованиям🏁! Особенно интересно, как готовитесь психологически 💆
It’s 16 weeks today that I run the Yorkshire Marathon 🏃🏻♀️ I started my marathon training this morning with a slow 5 mile run. I’ve never trained for a marathon during the summer and autumn so I’m really looking forward to training when it’s warm and light outside, instead of the dark, cold and icy conditions I usually have to train in!
For the next few weeks my main focus with running is to build up my endurance with slow runs that gradually get longer. One of the reasons why I’ve decided to go for a 16 week training plan is to allow myself plenty of time to build up my running, the maximum distance I plan to do is about 20 miles; but I’m also hoping to vary my training with lots of tempo runs and negative splits on longer runs. Along with running I plan to continue doing Crossfit to help improve my strength and fitness, and ultimately to help prevent injury!
