A cold reception at Warriewood. This section is part of the Bicentennial Coastal Walk that links Narrabeen Beach to Warriewood Beach, but of course you could always just part at Warriewood Beach and do a 1 minute walk to this spot. 👍
Currently in North NSW and decided to take the opportunity to look for a species of gecko I had yet to see. Being winter I wasn’t holding out too much hope of success. And on arrival my car thermometer was telling me the outside air temperature was one degree C. Even so after about an hour of walking we found 3 juvenile New England Leaf Tail Geckos (Saltuarius moritzi). Who knows what they were doing out on an icy cold night in the rainforest. But they were very exciting to find. Thanks @jannicokelk for the great night.

👋🏻 I wanted a photo to capture both the glorious day and new beginnings, but I think I should just title this: “Attempt number 25 with self timer, phone dropped twice whilst leaning on rock, managed to avoid eye contact with tourists on other rocks doing the same thing” #toocoolforschool
I’ve given you guys enough photos of things with a vertebrae.
Now onto the much cooler and diverse organisms of the sea.

Just before our descent of Balls Pyramid. Blue drummer (Girella cyanea) in the shot, including the yellow fish! They are blue fish with yellow spots but some of them have the yellow morph and scientists don’t know why🤔
