Up on the blog (link in the comments): The Nuun Year Dash virtual race recap. Looking back at my @strava data, I set some records with this virtual race. I’m not where I was a few years ago, but I’m working on getting to somewhere better than before.
Finished my #nuunyeardash 10k this morning, making it the longest nonstop run I’ve had since my injury. And I continued until I hit 8.6 miles in a run/walk. I’m slowly getting my confidence back. It feels amazing! #roadtorecovery#fitfam@fitfamhq

My recovery run was a bit fast, but who can slow down on a day like this?! SKOL!!! #nuunyeardash
Nuun Year Dash 10K complete! I took advantage of the nice weather to get my run on. From being in the teens to high 60s in the same week. That’s Texas weather for ya! #nuunyeardash#fitfamhq#runtheyear2018
Used today's race as a training, 7miles for #nuunyeardash and 13miles for #abetterworldrunning 20 miles today in preparation for the #losangelesmarathon
Bandaged my toes and taped them, it worked no blisters, just mild pain on my pinky toe. Sand on my face, butt and toes, super windy day with sand storm

@nuunhydration@fitfamhq Had to split up my Nuun Year 10k but I got it done! My plan was to run 3 miles on Thursday, then the entire 10k on Friday but due to some pop up foot pain I took Friday off and completed the event at a local 5k today. The foot pain made it more of a walk then run but I pushed through and “owned my courage”. It didn’t help I had to dodge groups of dogs and their walking and/or human counterparts (it was a dog friendly race put on by a local rescue group) but I pushed through! Now to rest up for a few days and give these “dogs” a rest ! #nuunyeardash#fitfam#movethemission#beyourbest#fitfamambassador#nuunlife#nuunambassador#nuununiverse
School was on a delay due to the fog. Tomorrow it’s supposed to snow, so I got in the #Nuunyeardash. My goal was to attempt negative split, especially toward the end, but my plan didn’t work out as I hoped. But today, I reminded myself how to dig deep for that last push. I also set goals for the upcoming race. If I succeed at goal A, I’ll treat myself to a new item of clothing for a triathlon I want to do in May. Also, having a place to put 2018 goals on the back of the bib was a nice touch by @fitfamhq .
#nuunyeardash attempt 2: My goal was to walk the 6.2 Miles, but again life has other plans for me. I did get about 5 Miles in. In the process of logging my miles, I saw a beaver and attended a wonderful MLK day ceremony. Tomorrow is another day.
RACE PICS WOOOO. 🏃♀️
Awesome (and windy) race today at the Shark Bite Half Marathon! Used this as a baseline starting my Boston training, but I also kinda raced it because I was part of an Altra Challenge team with 💵 on the table. The last two miles were a pure wind tunnel (hence my face in the first pic on the homestretch), I took zero nutrition due to some tummy troubles this morning, and I still PRed by a few seconds. Yay! 🏅
6th overall female and an age division win against some strong Florida elites, and my Challenge team took second with the the 6-8-10 spots and age division and masters wins. 💪🥇
I debated a lot over what to wear for the cold (thanks for your votes in my Stories!) and was happy with the final decision. 👍I was also super glad I taped up my back (and plantar fascia per usual) with @rocktape because I needed that movement support later in the race and after. 💪
So glad I got to share and celebrate this day with my awesome run squad and their own PRs and a birthday! The support and love you get from your run tribe is like no other. ❤️ And congrats to those who kicked butt in Houston! Check my Stories for some shoutouts on the run fam’s accomplishments!
P.S. That’s a Huma gel in my pocket in the third pic. I’m not just happy to see you. 😜
