Lets all continue to achieve great things, to bring this industry to the next level!
The past three months have been a bit of a blur. I started my first semester at university on a high. Somewhere along the lines, I started losing sight- allowing the dreaded 'perfectionist bug' to consume me. It was not pretty - there were plenty of tears and doubts. I started feeling like a fraud; afraid that somehow I would become exposed - shown that I really am not as smart as I appear to be. 'Jack' stepped in amidst my self-pitying loathing downward suction.
"Seraphina.... 'P's get you degrees...". I was stumped.
Absolutely. Mind. Blown. "What would you say to Emma if she received a 'Credit' grade? How would you feel?" And it dawned on me.
My grades do not and should not define me.
Good grades will not MAKE anyone love me more nor should they.
I want to enjoy the process. After all, for the first time in my life, I'm actually studying something I'm truly passionate about - truly interested in. It isn't about the money that could come in, it's definitely not about pleasing parents or loved ones. This is all me. And I don't need a 'D'. I'm already proud of who I am.
Lucky for me, all of this happened a day before my examinations.
It was a strange new experience - casually strolling through my hall 5 minutes before it was due to start, calm and focused with the quiet knowledge that I will pass and that it was good enough for me.
It really was a 'Que Sera Sera' moment.
And then I wrote without stopping for the whole 2 hours. I remember having a brief thought 'I need to write more often... my hands are aching!' So here we are.
A renewed sense of commitment to my journal that I bought earlier this year.
On a less serious note, these Itsi Bitsi glitter pens from The Reject Shop are a find ($4 for a pack of 12)!!
I've started planning my July month - jam packed with lots of holiday activities for the littlie.
What have you got planned?
