Back Injury: Bulged Disk Recovery
Feels good to be finishing my 2nd week of PT and seeing improvements! Towards the end of my Sophomore year in college, I developed terrible pain in my lower back after a weights session. I had different examiners review my injury and it was never fully addressed. As time went by and I stopped competing, the pain subsided and I figured things were back to normal.
. . .
Fast forward to this year, I started to develop the same pain in the same area during training. After multiple doctors visits, it was finally confirmed that I have a bulge disk in my lower back. It’s been a long and frustrating process, but my pain has started to improve with physical therapy and the appropriate treatment.
. . .
I thank everyone who has supported me through this process and hope to make a full recovery soon.✨
My gorgeous mind twin is a married woman now and I’m beyond grateful to have been a part of this wonderful day. Being one of your bridesmaids was an honor and definitely something I’ll remember forever ❤️. Lots of tears of joy shed for many different reasons but mainly because seeing such happiness in her eyes was so beautiful. May God continue to bless you always. Love you always ❤️👰🏼. #Blessed#FriendShip#Love#Weddings#Bride#PositiveVibes#Bridesmaid#MakingMemories
You know your passion when your favorite jewelry pieces signify it. A rubber ring for when you train in the gym that my friend Jasmine gave me as a gift. I wear it because 8 years ago Mike proposed to me-I lost my ring-just as we lost ourselves -then found ourselves again - and both decided to build an Empire together -our gym) so i will wear this until he gets me an opal ring to replace the one I lost. ❤️🤗 and my favorite necklace that @amieu235 (my Momma) gave me as a gift that says "For nothing is impossible with God" my strength comes from God-my passion to help others -and the ones that love me as much as I love them...my people. This storm I'm fighting through would not be fought through without those in my life. Thank you to everyone who has been the glue that has held me together this past year . I promise to repay you one way or another and I'll make you so proud ❤️ #fierce#strong#fiercestrengthtraining#fiercestrength#fst#trainlikeananimal#godisgood#positivevibes#empire#noexcuses#dreamer#fitfam#grind#goaldigger#beautifuldestinations#aesthetic#healthy#motivate#empower
To me, #bodypositivity isn't about posting the picture of a flat stomach that you "feel best about" and praising it--to me body positivity is about posting the pictures of a bloated stomach, of cellulite, and of unflattering angles and standing in confidence to say I love myself anyways. Everyone's got things they'd like to change about themselves but dwelling on those doesn't help anyone. This is YOUR body this is who YOU are and you are beautiful and glorious and blessed and loved for exactly who you are. It's hard and it takes effort to love yourself but you are worthy of love and of being loved and you are beautiful exactly how you are. ❤️
Too many people whine about not having the life they want. The main reason people fall short of their own expectations is the same reason most companies fail to achieve their objectives: poor planning and execution. In fact, I am amazed at how many successful executives create strategy for their business, leaving their life to chance. Often it's more comfortable (note I didn't say easier) to complain and blame outside factors for lack of accomplishment or unhappiness than to take time to work on life rather than in it. -
Here are a few tips to make sure you do not fall into this common TRAP 👇
✔️Plan a preferred future.
As Lewis Carroll said: If you don't know where you are going, then any road will get you there. Make your planning specific and measurable. Take time to examine and discuss the details of every aspect of your life, personal and professional, to achieve integrated success and happiness. ✔️Consider the tools around you, old and new.
Every resource is important. On my old list is Napoleon Hill, who nearly 100 years ago connected creative visualization to success. And I will also consider new resources like crowdsourcing. ✔️Ignore the naysayers.
I live for constructive criticism. But outside perspective that is baseless conjecture or stems from emotional baggage (think dissatisfied family or friends) is destructive for achievers. Put these people in a box where they can't distract you from your ambitions. Find people who get it, and put them in your corner. Engage them in your preferred future, and help them achieve theirs. 😉
