Here’s a video recap from @hypebeast that gives you a flavor of the amazing talent that @muralsinthemarket features.
The awesome team at @1xrun and @muralsinthemarket shared their tips with us for planning a mural festival and we wouldn’t be doing the festival if it wasn’t for them.
Check out Murals in the Market in person when you get the chance! Their festival dates this year are Sept. 13th-21st. Follow @muralsinthemarket to see their awesome posts from the festival.
More than 50% of all sex trafficking victims in Canada are indigenous women and girls. We see this every day in the survivors we support and communities we partner with. ⠀
This is unacceptable and we must all rise to stop it.
“A Face at the Pow Wow” (2010). At this particular pow wow, it was neither the first time nor the last time I have seen this beautiful, elegant Native American woman. I hope to see her again. #montanastateuniversity#bozeman#montana
I remember being told by one of my co-workers at a past job I was different than other “indians”. I asked her what she meant and she shrugged her shoulders and failed to elaborate. I told her she needed to get out more. The experience has stayed with me. While it’s true there are problems in First Nations communities I do not understand why people paint races with the same brush. It bothers me when people say I am a credit to my race. Why do minorities have the burden of being ambassadors of their race? I can’t imagine telling a person they are the hardest working white person I know. Have you had an experience like that before?
