You ever stop to exclaim “Wow, go me!”?
With @thesfmarathon approaching, I wanted to look back at my marathon performances thus far - specifically this same race last year. For those who don’t know, 2017 SF was my first full ever. And dude, look at those split paces! I guess I was so dazed afterward that I never took a moment to acknowledge how impressive it was that I kept my pace even pretty much from start to finish. I’m proud of July 2017 me. You go girl. 🤗
I told my partner yesterday about my race plan for 12 days from today. I’ve thought a lot about it, and have just been friggin’ PUMPED UP rather than scared this time around. It’s weird to be in a place where I feel very confident & excited to perform, but am in this limbo of having an ongoing problem with my leg that sprouted up 2 weeks ago. It’s pretty bad, but I am very determined. I’m getting a sports massage today with an excellent therapist and am hoping he can work some magic. Fingers crossed, prayers and/or wizard charms accepted 🤞🏼
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. ❤️🤘🏼
A good race depends on more than just your training. To improve your speed and performance, you also need to consider what you are putting into your body. The right foods at the right time can boost your running performance tremendously. Plus, you will reduce the risk of injury and illness. The best foods every runner should include in his or her meal include carb dense foods such as: bananas, oatsmeal, Peanut butter, broccolli, whole-grain pasta, plain yhogurt, coffee etc.
I hope you've all signed up for the @totalsports_sa's women's race, if you haven't go on my bio and follow the link for signing up.
