So I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the Bend Right rings from @canopy_craft. I spliced up a double braid sling to make a tidy contained loop and I have to say that I was rather impressed.
If you’re looking for some kind of a review then I would say that these rings don’t behave like any other I have used. The clever implementation of a smooth unbroken bend radius means that the rigging rope glides through it more like a block than a ring. The opening is a little limiting in that you can’t fit a spliced eye through [but it will take up to 16 mm unspliced]. It features a high quality coating and interesting design which allows two ends to be spliced back to the same ring. I see it more as a block replacement rather than a ring which is more versatile but less effective for smooth top rigging.
Well done Cole and thanks very much for sending one out all the way to NZ. A pleasure to work with and an impressive product from a one man operation!
