✨Pain is nothing compared to what it feels like to quit✨
Although having said that, my legs wanted to disagree tonight! I was definitely the first person on the struggle bus, only there was no bus, just a lot of struggle haha! I was super proud of my #diabetic day today having managed to keep my sugars in range for 78% of the day, which for anyone who knows me well, knows is a great achievement! There was a low sugar level at boot camp 3 but after downing a bottle of orange juice I was all set to go again. 🙌🏼
I don’t like to complain about this often and as I’ve said before, I’m really lucky to have such a supportive group of friends and family but seriously, it REALLY winds me up when someone says to me “should you be eating that”? I mean I would never go up to someone and ask that question, irrelevant if the ignorance it highlights with regards to #typeonediabetes it’s actually just very rude. There we go, rant over. 😕
Really enjoyed the new route with @midnightrunners tonight and already feeling the DOMS kicking in. #myactiveyear#werundiabetes#idoitfortheendorphins
STRESS FRACTURE UPDATE 🤕🤕..
I have lost my manly camouflage cast on Monday for a second set of X-Ray hoping to see a bone nearly healed and heathy. It was not entirely the case. The bone is healing but at a very low rate. The fracture is still obvious on the radio. Nothing that I have done or another bad news, just a very slooooooow process. But it’s going the right way 🙂. So now I’m with this “Robocop” shoe for another 🚑 .....
Wait for it ...
6 weeks 🤯🤯🤯 until 24 September..
So Yeap I felt a bit crap on Monday evening but I saw the silver lining in that situation 🌅 rapidly. After spending so much time in hospital, I realised that I have JUST a stress fracture. It does help to put things in perspective when you are comparing yourself to the others, especially there! And for that, I’m really thankful 🌅 ..
Other positive notes are:
🔜 I should be able to drive in the next 10 days. So If can’t run, well I can certainly join my fellow runners for the morning breakky and coffee ☕️ and caching up with friends for 🍔🍕🍻📸📷🎆🎞🎞..
🔜 I should be back in the swimming pool as well to increase the heartbeat and I will certainly give it a good run 🏊♂️🏊♂️.. huh swim I mean 😂..
The negatives in that are:
▪️Sydney Marathon September ❌ which was changed in half marathon is now out of the window and I just received the free singlet 🤣😂.. ..
▪️Melbourne Marathon October ... Nah ❌ I won’t be ready to run 42km after all this time off and I’m won’t risk it anyway. Maybe I will try the half but otherwise if someone wants my early bid entry please DM me 😉..
Feeling disappointed : 🧐 Yes of course.
Feeling down and demoralised : 🤨 Nope!! Not at all..
Isn’t my name “Happy_Bruno_in_Melbourne” 😄😃..
🎶 DONT WORRY BE HAPPY 🎶..
Go captain Go. 👨✈️..
STRONG RACING IN TONIGHT'S STEVENAGE SRC 5KM
Great racing tonight in the 5km (3.1 miles) in Stevenage tonight as my club celebrated their 5th birthday. Felt really strong tonight, fitter and confident. I honestly thought out of the three races I have done on this course this year, that I got my fastest time. However that wasn't the case and it was the slowest time out of the three events (the others being 21-12 and 21-54!) But out of all three, I felt a lot stronger, came away positive and I am sure the good times are going to roll soon but its going to take a lot of hard training to get there.
Started strong but again slightly faster pace than I wanted to be but got that under control before the first mile in. Then came the slowest part of the course with the corners and slight up hills to which Ollie, Tom, Steve and Aston got me. Dam, those guys are so quick! Last mile I was feeling even stronger and tried to push it (with two slight uphills as well). Crossed the finish line and recovered very quickly compared to other events I have done this year. Think I finished 5th place on the night, that is to be confirmed.
So, in all, despite the time, very good performance I felt and now to take this into the next lot of marathon training as it's only 87 days until Athens Marathon.
Miles: 3.1, KM: 5, time: 22-29 Average Pace: 7:20 per mile, KCAL Burnt: 451.
Splits: Mile 1: 6:54, Mile 2: 7:37, Mile 3: 7:34
Sending strength and positive vibes to Trail Michelle! Last week she endured a terrible car accident that resulted in some serious injuries. Let’s all keep her spirits up while she is in recovery! Trail fam is FAMILY on and off the trail. @michemoto83#ultrabuds#sdtrailrunners#trailfam
Nature is my best of friends,
During the seasons it guides me through my life.
It’s companionship never ceases to disappoint.
It’s sun provides me warmth on long winter walks,
It’s wind blows away my tears during difficult times,
It’s rain washing away my worries and insecurities.
It’s hills and mountains take my breath away and make my heart stronger.
It’s oceans and streams embrace me and teach me to swim through life’s changing currents.
It’s trees and flowers forget to judge my imperfections and wave when I pass.
No one knows me and accepts me quite like nature does,
In no one else’s presence do I feel completely myself.
In no one else’s company am I loved so dearly 💕

This pretty much sums running up for me 🌟excited to start training again back in VT.....Fall races in New England bring clear, crisp, temps with gorgeous leaves...I’m over the humid stuff now 😂.... #tb to running the trails at Brúarfoss 💙Iceland ..the water rushes that blue...priceless...
What’s next for you!!?? *********************************************************
There are certain things in life that will give you joy regardless of your age, what you have or where you’re going. These things are the things that connect us all :) Make it a point to do more of those things, like sitting down for 5 minutes with a cup of coffee. Not looking at your phone, taking a deep breath and looking out at this beautiful world with a smile on your face. 🙏 with that said, I’ll be back in 5 minutes ;). Have a beautiful day everyone! 🏔🙏🤙😊☕️🚌 www.carabinercoffee.com #carabinercoffee pc @willytsharp
