to the moment she knew she would never ever have to feel alone. ❤
Rae has metabolic issues (probably mitochondrial disorder), so she eats by mouth, but her body doesn't process foods correctly. After nearly a year of testing (and still testing), illness after illness, unable to reach milestones, and being labeled "failure to thrive" for so long, at 11 months old her doctors decided she needed to have a trial of a feeding tube (NG tube) placed in her nose. She gained weight. She started to have balance and was able to begin walking and was no longer lethargic all the time. After 5 months we tried taking her off her NG tube and within 5 days she was back to exhaustion, no energy to even pull herself up on the couch, lost half a pound, and her legs started wavering, her feet turning underneath her when she walked. It was then her doctors decided this was a much more long term issue and were encouraged to just do the gtube surgery.
So we did. And here she is, happy, healthy, growing because that little button in her belly gives us the ability to help her and give her the extra nutrition she needs to thrive.
I'm going to post in my story the process of her feeding tube set up to educate more on this! It's so important to see feeding tubes as LIFE and not a disability or just for those who are really sick. For Rae, it is the reason she's healthy❤ Follow @running.upload.daily for more

Smallest half marathon I have ever done. Thirteen of us total! Also second most hilly half behind Creston! That was brutal!! But finished second female overall and still below two hours 💪🏃♀️ #runforourfuture

Long run done!! 22 days till race day! I am feeling pretty awesome! I think my goal of under 2 hours is totally attainable at this point!! #halfmarathontraining
They say if you write a goal down you are more likely to achieve it. I'll look at this one more time before lacing up the spikes tonight.

@makerealchanges - @runforthekids 15km done and dusted for 2018 as part of team @aquarena_ymcamanningham. I was aiming to break 75mins but I ended up smashing the 15km in 67.37...I think that's an average of 4.30min/km pace...go me!! I went into the run feeling really underprepared, I hadn't done any longer runs to get kms in the legs, and had only managed shorter speed / interval work, so i was pleasantly surprised (my mind must be tougher than I thought). Time to refuel and stretch!!
