Rise + shine + remember to unplug. Tough Love Alert 🚨 We did a poll in Stories a few months ago and over 80% of you said you do not take more than 24 hours in a row of social each week 😩 Why is this a problem? Here are a few reasons... total loss of perspective, comparison, anxiety, anger, loss of creativity, FOMO... bla bla bla. Look, I promise you that you won’t miss much. In fact, you will gain all the essentials for being more awesome artists, content creators, leaders and humans. Each week I do my best to take 24+ hours in a row off social platforms but over the last few weeks I’ve taken NO breaks and trust me it’s not been pretty. I usually don’t ever use the phrase “if I can do it so can you” cause I actually think it’s BS but in this case if I can do it so can you. If you have systems in place to take care of business, and you have built trust with your tribe, you can turn off your fucking phone. Your brain and heart will thank you. Your anxiety will thank you. The clarity and perspective you gain will actually help you be even more awesome when you are online. And while you are at it, turn off those MF notifications. Nothing is more important than your sanity + well being. Promise. With that, I am signing back off to finish my much needed 48 hour break. I’ll be back tomorrow loving on you. Have an awesome day! Love- Nina ☕️📵👩🏼🎤❤️
Meet the stylist: Tristan Eves, Creative Director
Salon owner Tristan has enjoyed an illustrious and varied hairdressing career, working with the biggest names in the industry. After an impressive start, which saw him master his craft under the guidance of some of the most influential figures of the time, Tristan opened his first salon at the age of 23, a critically-acclaimed space that he quickly outgrew due to overwhelming demand. He relocated to a popular London salon, building up a celebrity clientele and working as a session stylist. From glossy magazine shoots to backstage work at fashion shows and awards evenings, Tristan’s reputation grew and he was soon headhunted by the legendary John Frieda salon. Television work followed – including the UK version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Make Me A Supermodel – before a ten year stint at Covent Garden salon Stuart Phillips. Then, in 2016, he opened his eponymous salon in Petworth which now has over 900 clients in its books...

Going from black to blonde in less than 3 months wasn’t easy, and I lost a LOT of length doing it this fast, about six inches to be exact, not to mention having to use the HIGHEST quality products to ensure the rest of my hair was okay. The first step I did was a color extractor 3 Times, then a color balance which left my hair completely black (photo 4) due to the high concentration of dye molecules in my hair. Then a full 10 hour process to lighten my hair to a sandy light brown/dark blonde. 6 weeks later a face frame and 3 weeks later a half highlight, then a full 4 pack application of extensions to add the color in chemical free. This process is not for everyone. Even someone like me with unlimited resources spent THOUSANDS of dollars to reach my goal of a longer, cooler blonde in the crunch time before summer. If you are looking to achieve a huge change like this please know there are NO shortcuts and NO guarantee of keeping your length when you have massive color build up and finer hair. I took that risk and ended up needing massive amounts of extensions to finish the look. Many people think you can take a short cut, and many expect something like this in two hours after seeing outrageous transformations on instagram. But this picture is a more accurate description of going from black to blonde. Please note I wouldn’t be able to do this process period without the use of the highest quality at home hair products @virtuelabs Recovery system, and absolutely NO heat on my hair for 3 months. After years of color build up on previously lightened hair, extensions were the ONLY way to get that white look that I wanted throughout my hair. I accepted it, but it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t share the journey. Xo .
