To say I’m humbled and proud is just a shortened version of being on such a wonderful team for the first Health Hack. An innovative event such as this brought people in the health care sphere together, who would not normally work together or cross paths. To say I learned a lot out side of my normal marketing realm is an understatement. My team of combined Rowan and Inspira efforts built an idea in less than two full days. From clinical research, to branding, statistics, and marketing strategy. Out of 9 teams we were chosen as one of the top three teams of finalists to bring our product to life; Winning 20,000 to get us off the ground and running. Thanks to Inspira and Rowan University for your innovative thinking to create such a collaborative and amazing event. Congrats to the two other winners and also to everyone who participated in this event. I hope it is the first of many.
This is my Facebook profile photo but I’m reposting because I like it a lot. Even though what #ecologists do may not sound or look like science at times, I can assure you it is. I may be running around chasing wild animals half the time, but I also work in the lab. This week I assisted with some DNA isolations. 👩🔬⚛️📊 I think women in science are important because a lot of women are still encouraged to focus more on their appearance, artsy & verbal side and caregiving side and discouraged from pursuing “harder” math or science classes. But women are totally capable of scientific thinking, and many key scientific advances have been made because of women. But I even still hear things from people within the scientific community like “women would be happier if they put their family before their education” or “women are distracting” or even “women are naturally less intelligent.” And people even try to use science to justify sexism and racism. To anyone who believes those things, I say 1. you’re probably wrong and 2. the world is changing and you can either fight it or support it, and 3. it’s not okay to harass anyone at their workplace. Science works best when everyone works together as a team. 👏 And to young women and girls who haven’t picked a major yet: don’t be discouraged from doing something because it’s “hard” or “what boys do.” Your freedom should be limited only by your own choices and not assumptions imposed on you by a dying and archaic system. 💜👩⚕️👩🏾🏫👩🏼💼👩🏻💻👩🏿🔬💁🏽♀️📚🖊💻🔬 #womeninstem#diversityinstem#scienceiscool#genderisover#dowhatyouwant#girlscandoanything#girlsinscience#educatedwomen
Hello everyone! This is Alya!! I made this piece for a school art project where I had to make a logo for myself. Can you see all the symbols I chose to include in the drawing? The galaxy and sky of course represents astronomy, the cherry blossoms represent plants and Asia, the bottom paint brush represents art, the constellation in the center of the drawing represents my middle name/Pleiades, the big stars all represent different things like Earth, music, Korean, peace, and philosophy, and the overall last part of the drawing is the lines that I made the constellation with which is my goal to be a cardiovascular surgeon. When I saw this week's challenge from @steamotype I got so excited because of my love for astronomy! I will post many artworks for this week's challenge!!! Stay tuned 😊

A magnet will levitate above a superconductor (or a superconductor above a magnet) because of the Meissner effect. This effect, discovered in 1933, causes the magnetic flux to be expelled from a superconductor. A superconductor is an example of a diamagnetic material.
What actually is superconductor ? .
What is Meissner effect ? How does superconductivity relate to Meissner effect ? Why is superconductivity important for world ? .
